UPND Denies Tribal Tag, Claims Its Not a Tonga Party

UPND Cadres

United Party for National Development (UPND) Deputy Secretary General Kuchunga Simusamba has dismissed assertions by Southern province Minister Daniel Munkombwe that the UPND is a tribal party.

Mr. Simusamba says the party is not run on tribal lines as can be clearly seen from its impressive performance in recent Mpongwe parliamentary by-election where it came second to the ruling PF.

He HAS told QFM News that his party is a national party and the biggest threat to the Patriotic Front’s continued stay in power.

He says this why the PF will do everything possible to tarnish the image of the UPND be giving it a tribal tag knowing too well the threat the opposition party poses.

Mr Simusamba says Mr. Munkombwe will always say bad things about the UPND in order to satisfy the PF for the job has been given.

Mr. Munkombwe is quoted as saying that the opposition UPND will never be successful politically because its leader Hakainde Hichilema runs the party on tribal lines.

it is a well known fact that all those calling UPND a tribal party are the worst champions of tribalism we have in this country. they actually know it too well no wonder they are always singing UPND as a tribal party.

wake up fellows, where were you when Chiluba won in 1991, only uneducated fools have forgotten the fact that Tongas voted for Chikuba (MHSRIP). And only uneducated foolish villagers in our towns have forgotten that Mazoka had hundreds of votes from all over Zambia (MHSRIP).

EXPIRED POLITICIANS like Munkombwe are examples of what becomes of someone who gets finished while still alive. viva UPND ZAMBIA FORWARD!

Wasn’t it made clear that ONLY a Tonga should take over from great Andy (MHSRIP)And where did ka under five suddenly spring from to grab the reigns, did he not use his financial muscle? He simply hijacked a once vibrant party only to finish it like chitenge material from Kafue Textiles…mabisi mabisi mmmtttss!

Who said tongas and UPND are tribal? it is the same people who say, bembas are thieves. anyone who fails to learn other people’s languages is swimming in tribalism.

tongas speak your language/s you fools. do you think we do not know that even after more 48 years of living and working with you, many of you still feel you can tell us that you do not understand tonga. what foolishness is that?

tongas speak good bemba, perfect nyanga, excellent lozi, is it too much for you to be ashamed of yourselves. stop this nonsense of calling others what you are. check around and you will prove me right if you are honest with yourselves.

soon UPND will rule this country and a Tonga will be president in Zambia. then the devil and his party members will go to hell and defect to UPND as they always do.

UPND is for TONGAs only. They said it themselves.
Ask Sakwiba Sikota he will tell you the Truth.

Mazoka was not tribal but he stood for all the Zambians. HH scares me as if he is not an Unza Graduate of the 80s. It is not good to preach tribalism but UPND is at it big time. UPND can rule Zambia if they denounce the tribal tag but it will take some time. Even some Tongas like me are not happy to hear UPND talking Tonga Politics because my wife is not Tonga.

@Chileshe, I feel U man. Mostly Tongas adapt easily to other languages. The problem arose at Mazoka succession. Deal with that & restore the Mazoka image. Otherwise HH seems a compassionate replacemet

Second place is never good enough or described as impressive in politics! No one remember’s the second placed candidate in any election and UPND should aim higher because Mpongwe was a MMD seat and it was free for the taking by any party. They should get worried for loosing Livingstone. People like Kapita have drag UPND deeper into the tribal tag because of their careless statements. HH should also refrain from making tribal references when he is talking about his opponents, otherwise new parties will be jumping over UPND and gain more support to rule the country like PF did.

this tonga tag should not be pronounced carelessly bar upnd. papers that have this tag should be disolved with credible political language that will attractively encourage other tribes from different parts of our mother land. thankyou
