FORMER Zambia Red Cross Society (ZRCS) secretary general Charles Mushitu has been arrested for allegedly diverting KR267,000 meant for orphans and vulnerable children.
Mr Mushitu, 44, has been arrested along with former finance director Sydney Chituta, 31, for abuse of authority.
The two are already appearing in the Lusaka magistrate court charged with two other counts of theft and money laundering involving about K1.4 billion.
Mr Mushitu, now a book publisher and Mr Chituta, are currently on police bond and would appear in court at a later date.

To me, this is the most reprehensible a human being can be. Taking bread from the mouths of orphans.
I can’t even think of a punishment that would befit his crime. But we can start with boycotting any books published by his company.
Hopefully justice will be dispensed by those entrusted with upholding the law.

Well said! But some Reverend called Putuka Mwanza will say this lacks credibility.
