Dandy Krazy To Face Trial

LUANSHYA senior resident magistrate Anastia Lungu has set May 10, 2013 for commencement of trial in the case in which musician Wesley Moses Chibambo, also known as Dandy Krazy, is charged with unlawful use of property.
Chibambo is charged with unlawful use of property, which is contrary to Section 20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act Chapter 96 of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence are that Chibambo on March 6, 2013 in Luanshya, did unlawfully use an unregistered Toyota Progress to traffic a psychotropic substance.
When the matter came up for trial in the Luanshya Magistrate’s Court yesterday, Ms Lungu adjourned the case because trial magistrate Edward Banda was not available.
Ms Lungu granted an application by Chibambo’s lawyers Paul Mulenga and Arnold Chikoli to adjourn the case because Mr Banda had travelled to Lusaka and Drug Enforcement Commission prosecutors were also not present in court.
“The defence is in a dilemma. We want to seek your indulgence to use your jurisdiction to allow the public prosecutor to mention the matter,” Mr Mulenga said.
And the Ndola Magistrate’s Court has adjourned the case in which former diplomat Bernard Chikoti is charged with giving false information to the media.
Ndola magistrate Ben Akende adjourned the case to April 23, 2013 for judgement.
