Airtel Launches Free Calling Promo

By MAIMBOLWA MULIKELELA -

AIRTEL Zambia has launched an affordable promotion dubbed “call them all for free”

The promotion is targeted at pre-paid customers and awards 25 free Airtel calling minutes for a charge of KR2 and 50 Free Airtel calling minutes +30 SMS for a charge of KR4.

Airtel head of corporate communications and government relations Chabuka Kawesha said in order for a customer to enjoy the free calling minutes , they would be required to participate every day by dialling *133#

“Upon enrolling the customer will automatically receive 25 free minutes or 50 minutes coupled with 30 SMS’ depending on the option selected by the customer,” Dr Kawesha said.

The bonus minutes and SMS’s are valid for use between midnight and 18 hours the same day. You can reach more than 4.5 million Airtel customers across Zambia. Even without any mass communication, we have already got over 100,000 subscriptions on day one of product pilot stage.

This promotion happens from midnight till 18 hours. The calling minutes and the SMSs must be used before 18 hours on the same day. If any customer subscribes to *133# after 18 hours, the free minutes and the SMS’s shall be available to the customer from midnight till 18 hours the following day.

Dr Kawesha said “The objective of this promotion is to give back to our customers and the community at large by allowing them to call longer while going about their day to day business. It is our hope that as we provide this service, we meet the communication needs of every Zambian”.

Airtel. they come up with new and innovative ideas but implementing them on long term is a problem. a month or two from now you may hav a problem with this promotion and if you call customer care will hear “sorry, but there was a technical fault and we will hav it rectified as soon as possible”. that soon as possible may mean next week
