The Zambia Railways Limited Board has with immediate effect being dissolved by Government.

Meanwhile the outgoing Zambia Railways Limited board says Professor Clive Chirwa has been making what they term unheard of demands which have been a challenge in the operations of the board.

At a press briefing in Lusaka former board Chairperson Professor Saasa said at no time did the board ask for allowances beyond the agreed terms with management.

Professor Saasa claimed that professor Chirwa has been demanding a salary of 248 million per month and a rented house at 72 million Kwacha contrary to the decision by the boards.

Professor Chirwa will after the main news feature on the Assignment Program to answer on these allegations and many other issues.

There must have been very serious rift between clive’s camp and the board camp but at last Clive’s camp has prevailed, although the Minister is trying to down play the issue.

K248 million and staying at lodge at the cost of K72 million is really outrageous. I thought president Sata and PF govt pride themselves as the govt for the poor. How on earth will they justify their agreeing to pay the man that much? Mr Chirwa should also live with the fact that since he agreed to help the country, the are centain sacrifices that he has to make. Really his conditions are way too much. Can the govt justify this?

We voted PF in order to serve money not to pay people huge sums for the job that even myself can handle. People come on, Mark chona and prof Saasa are not dull to do the things Chilwa is accusing them. Chilwa must go.
