THE Confederation of African (CAF) Football has postponed the June 22 African Nations Cup (CHAN) qualifiers for Cosafa countries as it coincides with the revived regional championship.
Zambia will host the revived Cosafa regional championship that is set for July 6-21.
FAZ General Secretary George Kasengele said CAF had pushed the games to the second week of August.
“The CHAN qualifiers for Cosafa countries have been pushed forward by CAF to allow them concentrate on Cosafa tournament,” Kasengele said.
Zambia had been scheduled to face Botswana away on June 22 in the first leg of the 2013 South Africa CHAN tournament and then host the Zebras on the weekend of July 5 to 6. The draws for the Cosafa region are set for May 3.
