Renard Names 31 For Zim Friendly, Nyambe Mulenga Returns In Chipolopolo Squad

Herve Renard has named a 31member team for Sunday’s friendly match against Zimbabwe that sees Zesco defender Nyambe Mulenga making a return to the national team set up.

The defender, who last made the national team in June last year, will hope this marks a return to the senior Chipolopolo where he had slowly been establishing himself as a regular in the backline.

The Frenchman has named six Zanaco players on his list but may face resistance from the bankers given their league match away to Konkola Mine Police on Saturday.

Missing out probably as a trade off is Nkana hot shot striker Reynold Kampamba and national team goalkeeping candidate Joshua Titima but the Nkana point man Festus Mbewe has been roped in the team.

Zanaco has contributed Roderick Kabwe, Salulani Phiri, Moses Phiri, Fackson Kapumbu, Potipher Zulu and Mwape Musonda.

Fitness battling Mukuka Mulenga has also made the team as he hopes to shake off a calf injury that kept him out of taking part in the trials.

Clubs are reportedly making last minute attempts to have some players recalled for national duty.

Renard has been having a look at 162 players that he hopes to name in the forthcoming Cosafa regional tournament and the African Nationas Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Full team:
Danny Munyao, Davie Kaumbwa and Rabson Mucheleng’anga.

George Chilufya, Kondwani Mtonga, Bronson Chama, Nyambe Mulenga, Salulani Phiri, Fackson Kapumbu, Jimmy Chisenga, Shadreck Malambo, Portipher Zulu, Musonda Mwape,

Sydney Kalume, Julius Situmbeko, Alex Ng’onga, Kangwa Chileshe, Bruce Msakanya, Briana Musonda, Mukuka Mulenga, Roderick Kabwe, Stanley Nshimbi, Nsofwa Mwansa, Kabwe Chileshe, Moses Phiri, Festus Mbewe and Bornwell Mwape.

Maybin Mwaba, Donashano Malama, Lottie Bwalya, Billiard Mwiinga.

Why have left out sate- sate. The boy is good and he is a goal getter like me. HR think again.

I think HR has his own players that are very royal to him which he want to work with, but this again is very bad because the tax payers money which he is paid will be at worst. Not only had he left Sate-Sate but also Clifford Mulenga who is even batter than Kalaba and the Katongo brothers

George Chilufya, Muchenganga, Alex ngonga and Bornwell, lets take a critical look at these players, they can help rescue our rescent poor form. But my appeal also goes to the bench to take a closer look at the Zesco united’s Simon Silwimba, the young man is good at his defensive and offensive skills. Otherwise good luck to our boys.
