Zambia beat Zimbabwe 2-0 in a friendly at Nkoloma Stadium to pick up their first win in nine months.
A brace from Nchanga Rangers striker Bonwell Mwape on his Zambia debut handed Herve Renard his first win since August 8, 2012.
The 23-year-old Mwape was on target in each half the first in the 30th minute before completing his brace 10 minutes before fulltime.
Coincidentally, Zambia’s last win was again over Zimbabwe whom they beat 2-1 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola in another friendly.
Since then, Zambia have picked up six draws and four defeats and came into the friendly on the back of four successive stalemates.
