KCM Mgt In More Money In Their Pocket As They Do a Double PAYE Deduction On Shocked Employees
Zambian miners walk out of a lift at Konkola Copper mine in Chililabombwe, Zambia.
So kcm management decided to deduct a percentage from their April 2013 pay and the balance to be paid in six (6) installment. A minimum of ZWM 1000 rebased and others up to more than ZWM4000 were deducted which left almost all the employees confused.
Employees talked to said that it’s not clear whether the amount involved is meant for Govt tax or the companies want to pay off some suppliers. Employees at the company have been in fact are the highest tax (paye) payers in the country.

this is not making sence, where these employee submitting their PAYE on there own or kcm has someone or payroll system that had to calculate PAYE. Lets not take our employees for granted. why would the government demand from an employee tax of the year 2006 and where all those employees with kcm from that year they claim they paid less tax? this is nosense.

Where are the unions? When govt is increasing salaries for us, the private sector in the name kcm is reducing in a dubious manner, kutuumpa saana. KCM should have explained to its workers before a deduction. The operations manager needs to be retrained.

Too bad to our friends at KCM. This Indians are playing tricks on Zambian workers. Its the same at Lumwana, Too many Australians with certificate of attendance only and getting a lot of money. We have the plenty of them here chewing free money. Just imagine Senior Staff conditions are not yet given to senior staff.

KCM is the most useless company,all dat it does is to btring misery en poverty on its employees. Everything in KCM is rotten if youre sick you are better off going to a government clinic or hospital. The drugs being given are expired not to talk about the poor services being offered at KCMs Nkana Clinic where nurses hardly care for the sick. Government should reposes this defunct indian mine before it goes to the dogs.

I am one of KCM employees.It was a pay roll error and workers have since been refunded their balances. The balances were paid into their accounts on Monday this week.

I was also wondering what ZWM is. Anyway, that is the problem of reporting on things you do not understand yourself. There is no way you can say KCM employees are highest PAYE payers. Unless you say due to numbers or high salaries, they contribute more collectively. Otherwise your reporting is based on your opinion not facts.
