Local musicians Petersen and Pilato have denounced political lies in the new hit song ‘Bufi’.
Petersen and Pilato sings about broken promises like cheap fuel, construction of roads and job opportunities for young people. Singing in Bemba, Petersen says all were lies as people are still sleeping in dirt. Boza, bufi, ulabeja, wenye are some of the recurring words in the song that traces the lies certain politicians uttered while campaigning for power. He said you were lying Tata. You promised cheap fuel; you said you will construct roads but you were lying as people are still sleeping in tunnels.

The truth of the matter is not even Petersen’s Dad can make the mark in one ane half years. PF has been in power for close to eighteen months now unless you are expecting miracles. MMD was in power for twenty years you never asked them about development, why asking PF which is only eighteen months only? Rome wasn’t bult in a day. Petersen you are too fast in misleading the people. So careful.

Much as i appreciate that Rome was not built in a day, people feel cheated bcoz pf over promised them.If Pf was true to themselves, people would have understood.but they did everything possible just to get into power at the expence of lying that things will change in 90days.Fine things have not changed but the question is, are we heading in the right direction?pipo are not asking for rocket science questions but basic human needs only.

Proffessor PK Chishala released “Common Man” in the early 1990s to confuse the pipo whether he was objective or not but MMD at that time went head to win the 1996 general elections. The few bloggers sitting in Lusaka cannot persuade pipo to vote otherwise. What will persuade pipo out there to vote for a leader of your own choice is to go out there, not blogging on the internet. Regardless of all these negative comments especially from ZWD Sata will still win the 2016 elections and that is a fact.

People need to realistic and give credit where it is due. Saying that PF promised roads and there are no roads being constructed is madness of the highest level. Then I begin to doubt the credibility of Petersen, pantu ici cimbi muletila ci Pilato ica mishishi ngeshilu nemilomo iyapya nshacishiba bwino(Bushe na cena cilembati?) I am not saying all is rosy with FP but we need to take one step at a time guys. MMD government stole and left the coffers empty, now that things seem to be hard as the PF government is trying to fix the many challenges left by their predecessors, haters want to demonise the President and his cabinet and think that Zambia can turn into a paradise over night without hard work and sacrifice from them. there is need to encourage one another to work hard if we are to realise the dream of having more money in our pockets. People need to create jobs on their own to complenemt government effort. Come on guys we need to first discover the genesis of the crisis we are faced with and only then we can takle our problems with a lot more focus. Sorry I have not listened to the song but I am compelled to comment based on the title of this article

Guys it took less than a year for late Chiluba to bring change to our economy in 1991, how then can u say that 18 months is way to little for us to expect change? Do not encourage wrong things. 18 months is little to reduce the cost of fuel but enough to increase it? 18 months is enough to continue allowing the chines selling sub standard products but not enough to stop them? This time issue is just a way of running away from the fact that they (Government) have failed so far.

SINGER Petersen Mundia has released a single titled Bufi, which talks about a stepfather who is
taken to task by his stepchildren following his failure to fulfill the promises he made during courtship.
In the song, Petersen also known as Zagaze, seemingly referring to the PF government, accuses it of failing to reduce fuel, its failure to build roads and the lack of jobs.
In an interview yesterday, Petersen said the song, which features Copperbelt-based artiste Pilato, basically talks about the need for people to fulfill whatever promises they make.
“The song is talking about grown up children who are kept by their mother and then a stepdad comes in and you see women are easily cheated, you know every woman has got that weakness of being taken advantage of by a man. And grown up people in a family who are working and are facing challenges of life, they are able to sit down their father to say ah! you said you were going to buy a plot for our mother, you did not buy, bufi!! So the children are just trying to highlight and remind the stepfather of what promises he was telling them when he wanted to get them and shift them from Luanshya to Lusaka,” said Petersen.
Asked if there was any connection in bufi and the failure by political parties that are voted into power to deliver on their campaign promises, Petersen responded: “People interpret everything the way they understand and as an artiste, I would not stop anyone from understanding or interpreting what they want to understand in a song because it is the diversity that makes a song popular.”
Petersen said certain fans like something sarcastic and prefer to understand them that way.
“If they understand it in a sarcastic way, the number grows for my fan base, it is all good. Others like spiritual
things and if it is working well for me, it is all good. I do not have a problem with how somebody is going to interpret it. It is a satire song and everyone is free to understand it the way they want. I am just an artiste and I am painting an abstract picture that anyone can understand or the way they want to take it,” said Petersen.
Asked what was the motivation behind the song bufi, Petersen said he was motivated to come up with the song so as to emphasise the need for people to keep their words.
“When you make a promise whether to friends, parents, church people or preachermen, it is better you keep your word not just ilyashi ya trying to get that person’s concern, love and support and then trash them along the way,” said Petersen.
And Petersen revealed that he had adopted new names and these are Honourable Apostle Petersen Zagaze ‘Banda’.
He explained that Banda was a very sensitive and lovely
name for him as it meant a lot.

Even in US people sleep in the streets. What people should understand is that life in these so called developed nations is hard than here. Those big buildings they have simply shows how big their problem are. The problem we have in Zambia is thinking that everything should be given even without working for it. Many people here in Zambia are just involved in talking. Sometimes you wonder how a 30 years man could continue to depend on his parents even for buying simple things like tooth brush. Big people cannot engage themselves in productive activity.
Make a proper choice of your career you will not regret. If you choose a wrong career you continue to be in the street and blame the government.

This boy Petersen and his fellow trump Pilato, are they sane? Anyway, lets not mind them because they have never seen too much chalk if any. Development can only be visibly seen in your own industry young man Petersen. You smoke weed and spend hours behind the mic, of what value can that generate in your pocket? You are the same chaps who are getting free AR****’s from government hospitals and can’t see the efforts of boma. I pity you chaps. Your days are now numbered. Remember what happened to P.K Chishala and Lazarous Tembo? Oh..sorry ndiwe mwana wa mailo. Mark my words. Wonder what type of women can fall for you with such shallow minds. They should be so cheap and dirty. Is Pilato a Chainama escapee?
