Dear Editor,
IN the run-up to the 2011 general elections, Fr Frank Bwalya said he would kill for the PF with his red-card campaign. He meant a political killing. MMD is dying a slow and painful political death this time, while its arch-enemy is now in power. Fr Bwalya has since been seen as a kingmaker, and PF’s victory further emboldened him.
Now Fr Bwalya, an infant in Zambian politics, wants to kill PF. How did it come to this and where will it all end?
“There are no permanent friends in politics,” Fr Bwalya, the now beleaguered president of a yet-to-be-formed opposition political party, has noted.
He has made public pronouncements that few would dare whisper. He has made bold statements on intractable problems such as the fuel-subsidy question and the huge inequality division between the ruling elite and the ruled masses.
If Fr Bwalya has a political fault, it is because he calls a spade a spade and not a big spoon. He does not hide his intentions. He often simply tells a truth that is too unpalatable for others. He is raw.

Lusaka.

So what? He feels good about tarrifs increses but bad about energy increases. Wha’s the difference?
politics will just be politics. Even friends from Roads department are making a go at looting and have forgotten about their concious.
Whatever happens, evil does seem to have an upper hand… but we win in the end! He conqured the world!

The insensitivity of the PF will make them the one term party with the influencial Father who created mass votes on the copperbelt pointing out cardinal isues like fuel hike, looming mealie hike and the price ripple the two can cause. This Father knows more than the eye can see.We are watching form the terraces

Frank Bwalya did not create mass votes for PF.He was paid K100m to campaign for PF which I believe he had more when PF won elections.

I knew Fr Bwalya when he was at Radio Cengelo and before that and by that time I was also serving in CCJP at Diocesan level. He is one person who speaks for the poor and once he starts someting he will see it to the absolute end. People must learn to take him seriously not as a joker because he stands for the truth.
And looking at the way things are moving now, I for one will keenly be following him, give him moral support and wait for 2016. Fr, am near you and waiting to be recruited in your fold. TAKWABA LYONSE KUCULA FYE even under pa bwato.

CCJP has lost direction. People just want to be paid and since this stopped most Deanaries have become moribund.

Being in Govt does not mean short sightedness in delivering to the people. In govt its reality. You have got to “have” in order to give. You chaps are talking like “chibola” who says if me I had children, I will send them all them all to University. You foreget that in the first place they have to pass the exams themselves.
What FP is doing now is the only sustainable way to to bring about sustainable income in the pipo’s pockets. The projects on the ground now are the only true means of creating sustained economic boom. And I will list points for you to help you shift your paradigm about a working Government.
1. Implementing a people driven Constitution with emphasis on the rule of law.
2. The Link Zambia Road project will open up area attractive for development and create access to natural resources.
3. Developing, upgrading and reabilitating of Power generation plants will increase capacity for sustained economic boost we can all dream about.
4. Development of the Educational sector by increasing the both the private and public universities to produce human capital required for the future invisaged development coming with the above.
5. Developing a sustained Health care system.
6. Creating a form of inclusive government that welcomes divergent views.
7. Developing a decentralised approach to the development of regions of Zambia by creating more decision making centre like new far flang districts and aligning others to central adminitrative centres.
On the contrary, the following will not sustain a happy citizenry.
1. Subsidising consumption.
2. Government created jobs. Govt cannot do business
3. Cheap talk. Talk is cheap.
When the above mentioned projects are finished and others supported, you will swallow your tong my freind. Watch this space.

The worry is,this man will stop at nothing even if another can win, he will behave the same unless he himself wins. His ambitions are greater than himself. Even his fellow oppositions should be wooried cause he himself has to win and noone else. So opposition parties should not rejoice saying that it is good he has rebelled against the PF or govt cause has no permanet friends unless his egos are accomplished.

It is just Zambians are desparate for quality leadership. Fr Bwalya is NOT a presidential material..not even ministerial. I have listened to him talk, he is very erractic at best. Teti bamineko namate. He is a very good activities though because he has ‘chibe-chibe’ altitude. Which at presido level can be risky.

He sounded ill-prepared and insincere.

What father bwalya should be reminded of is what the bible quotes as the saying of our lord jesus on the poor, him is trying to hide his ambition.”””I RE- QUOTE’JESUS SAID THE POOR WILL ALWAYS BE WITH YOU. SO WHO IS HE TO CLAIM THAT HE CAN ELIMINATE WHAT MAKES PEOPLE TO BE POOR?

This bwalya guy is actually a fool.Surely if he thinks the PF ar not delivering, wat makes him think he can do better as president..development cannot cum at the blink of an eye,it takes years 2develop even decades at that..so aba ba Father, its too late 2actually think that he can “HOODWINK” the pipo of this great nation Zambia.Ba father i ur brain is telling u that the PF are developing this country at a tortoise’s pace, then u urself can bring development at a slugs pace.By the way i love the way my dude KEN analysed things & outlined them so that those that are blind up2 nw can begin 2c wat the PF are doing!Thumbs up KEN.

Limbula isansa talilamena imishila is our bemba saying. Father Bwalya is very right. He said he will praise and encouradge the pf & president Sata when they do a good thing but at the same time criticise them when they make a mistake.Let us not insult this man as he is surely a very strong voice for the majority poor and voiceless Zambians. If you look carefully the political climate obtaining currently in Zambia, there is no strong political voice that can expose all the wrongs the pf are making.Even if he does not win an election, the mere fact that he is there will even help the pf to always be awake and perform to our expections. Mind you, if there was no Sata during Mwanawasa’s presidence, Mwanawasa would not have peformed the way he did.Sata was always giving Mwanawasa a heardache there by reminding him of what he was supposed to do and the only good thing about Mwanawasa was that he listened and did exactly what Sata was saying thereby making him one of the best African Presidents.
BRAVO FATHER BWALYA AND ALL PATRIOTIC ZAMBIANS BACK IN MY COUNTRY. I LOVE YOU ALL AND MISS YOU.

I would have preferred Fr Bwalya come back to the alter but with the weak threatened dented & soft spotted opposition in MMD & UPND am afraid we shall drift back into one party style of UNIP & MMD eras.He is the only one who has shaken PF (kambwili) to the extent the Hon Minister couldn’t hold insults on public media.Intellectuals know the meaning of such uncontrolled outbursts of the like of Minister Kambwili- Luxurious life shaken isn’t it?

People should realise that Frank Bwalya is lying to people when he says he has gone into politics so that he can speak for the people. He had a good platform as a priest to speak for the people all his life! If elected as a president, he only has 5 or 10 years, what is he going to do after that since he won’t be allowed to be active in politics? Someone lied to Frank that there’s money to be made in priesthood and found nada! The most worrying thing in Zambia is the precedent being set, NGO’s becoming politically active overnight. The government of the day will start treating NGO’s as political opponents and this might become ugly even for innocent groups because trust is been betrayed by selfish individuals like Frank. We should not be surprised when we see operations of some NGO’s closing, the line is getting blurred, you cannot run an NGO and also run a political party you have to choose on which side you have to speak from. You cannot have it both ways like Frank is trying to do. I am still wondering which calendar Frank used, I have never seen the shortest 40 days in my life!
