POLICE in Kabwe have arrested a 26-year-old nurse of Kabwe Mine Hospital for burning her lover’s wife.
And Women and Law in Southern Africa national coordinator Maimbo Ziela says the law must take its course in a matter where Beatrice Nsama Limbembe of Kabwe’s Chowa Township had her face burnt by her husband’s girlfriend, Flaviour Kashimbaya.
Limbembe, 37 is battling for her life in Kabwe Mine Hospital after being burnt with hot water by Kashimbaya on Thursday.
Sources close to the victim said she had followed her husband at Kashimbaya’s house after he did not show up at his matrimonial home for two days.
“What happened is that the husband, whose name is Godfrey Limbembe, had not been home for two days for no apparent reason. On the second day, the woman Beatrice went to the husband’s girlfriend’s home. And when the husband came out of the house, Beatrice and Mr Limbembe started exchanging bitter words,” explained the source. “A few minutes later… Flaviour came out with an electric kettle containing hot water. She then poured the hot water on Beatrice’s face.”
And Central Province Commissioner of Police Standwell Lungu confirmed the incident which happened around 05:30 hours on Thursday.
Kashimbaya is currently detained at Chowa Police Station while police have instituted investigations into the matter.
“Yes we are investigating that matter,” Lungu said.
He warned members of the public against taking the law in their hands.
“People should learn to resolve matrimonial issues amicably,” said Lungu. “These are very serious matters. This woman has serious burns and is battling for her life in hospital.”
And when contacted for a comment, Ziela said it was unfortunate that women were fighting instead of helping each other.
She said the law must take its course in matters of gender-based violence, regardless of who is alleged to have committed the offence.
“It’s sad that women are turning against each other especially that it is coming at a time when we are striving to achieve zero tolerance against gender-based violence,” explained Ziela in an interview on yesterday. “GBV should not be entertained. Whether the vice is being perpetrated by a female or male person, the law must take its full course.”

Instead of being at the Hospital nursing patients, you are now the one busy assaulting people.Your heart is very hard and you not fit to be a nurse because you are capable of even giving wrong drugs to patients you hate in hospital.

If she can burn her oponent with hot water. What about patients in the ward. The general nursing council should investigate such cases and strip that woman off the qualifications. No sin on earth shall go un punished.

She should have stayed home.Never follow a man where he goes. What were you hoping to achieve by following? Taming him…I have never heard of a woman who has tamed a man. They change on their own accord.. The more you persue them the more they wonder away from you.
This should be a learining lesson to all women that follow their husbands.

You are giving the Wrong lesson ( in my opinion).
The lesson should be that no one has to put up with infidelity in marriage.
YOU set the boundaries – if your husband/wife already knows that infidelity is a deal-breaker for you, he will be faithful for as long as he/she wants you.
He breaks the deal – it’s over, he wants it to be over. Walk away.
