accidents are not about how well trained the driver is. It’s like in a kitchen. A person who always cuts relish would at one point lose concentration but escape a cut or be cut cause it so happened they were not lucky. even the best trained driver can err.

Death may be eumona fye abensha if ifyabupuba ati ine nd cruza nga naima pa Lusaka ni 3 hours fye naingila Ndola, but usually they will just drive for 2 hours or less and they are off the road. Well said Mark3. The whole thing about roads and road users need serious rethinkin. Is it normal for me to wait for another vehicle to cross Kalomo bridge on Kalomo/Lstone Highway? How many people die and how much property is lost every week at a place called DALLAS between Mazabuka and Kafue? Do u need Clive Chirwa to say EXPAND THE ROAD, YOU CHAP?

I wonder if there are statistics out there which show how many accidents have been happening in Zambia each year in the last 20 years as a percentage of vehicles in the country and if those numbers have changed with changes in Government/leadership. The influx of reconditions vehicles, more people driving, Driver qualification regime, inexperienced drivers, state of the roads, e and many others changes highlighted by others in their comments surely should impact adversely on the number of accidents. How many of us have had funerals of neighbours and relatives who have died in accidents and never reported in the media over the many many years, people now have more access to information than ever before therefore we hear more of these incidents more quickly? No doubt Prayer is powerful and always helps but let us focus on the root causes of these terrible incidents in a sober mature manner to solve the problems.
