Zambian Contractors To Lose Lumwana Contracts

Dear Editor,

Zambians workers and Contractors have started losing jobs at Barrick Lumwana in Solwezi and the Minister of Labour turns cold and a deaf ear to those that have lost jobs and are about to lose jobs.

Zambians voted and they were assured that they will be protected from the so called Investors.
Moomans, have lost the contract, Zambians are back on the streets. More Zambian contractors are requested to surrender their employees or risk been booted out, The Minister of Labour pretends not to know and are quite about this issue.
More Expatriate Whites are recruited as supervisors over the most and highly qualified Zambians, The Minister of Labour is still quite and pretends not to know about this intensive recruitment.
Barrick Lumwana is absorbing contractors labour thereby Killing All Zambian contractor companies and the Government is just watching.
The Zambian Contractors have skilled HER’s, Mining Engineers,  and these men and women have been working 12 hours a day for 21 or 28 days per month.
Yet the Minister of Labour pretends not to know these changes are been effected daily in Solwezi and NO ACTION IS TAKEN by our Minister Of Labour.
Why are the Zambian contractors not protected? These are companies registered at PACRA, so why are they been de-registered by our Investors and the Government is Quite or silent.? Why? How does the Government reach out to Creating more jobs when Zambians are loosing jobs everyday???
Who will save the Zambian Contractors at Lumwana from total collapse
We Need an action oriented Ministry to save Zambia contractors from Extinction???

This is not only happening at Lumwana, its every where now in Zambia. can some one check at Kansashi and Kalumbila, no Zambians are getting good jobs. foreigners are coming in everyday and taking up jobs like builder, welder, mechanic, driver, painter, fitter, and all jobs that Zambians can do.Immigrants are not to deprive a citizen out of employment. we voted PF into government because they preached employment to us. but as the situation is now, 2016 no vote PF kuya bebele

They went into government without a plan. (In HH’s accent). Very true. Even in a home without a plan you can end up squandering millions on useless things.

This truth has come to the full knowledge of a lot of lmc workers, one of the expatrates wanted to send a mail to the accountant but he mistakenly sent to “all” and we had a chance to see how much this guy gets, the chap gets Kr 735000 per month and he’s just an Electrical Supervisor. The question is, “is the government aware of this? How about the salary that Clive demanded and people rose, yet they can’t say a word about these expatrates with no qualifications just because they’re white. Foreigners at lmc are too many!!. WHERE IS PF?

Kanshi where is the President or is it that he is not being told of what is happening?
