BREAKING: Four Persons Dead At TB Joshua’s Church
Four persons have been confirmed dead at the Spintex Road branch of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) founded by Prophet T.B. Joshua.
The tragic incident occurred after a stampede ensued at the church, Sunday, when reports emerged there will be free distribution of holy water.
Greater Accra Police Public Relations Officer DSP Freeman Tetteh confirmed the death to Joy News and said the bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the 37 and Police Hospital mortuaries.
Some 13 persons were also severely injured during the incident.
He said the incident happened around 8:30 am shortly after the announcement that the holy water was going to be distributed for free.
The bodies have since been sent to the morgue.
According to DSP Tettey, the Church was advised by the Police to truncate the service, which they did.
Thousands of people had flocked the church in pursuit of healing, spiritual and financial breakthrough.
The holy water, to many TB Joshua followers is acclaimed to be the panacea to the many spiritual afflictions.
The Church is yet to formally issue a statement on the incident.

I BELIEVE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE CHURCH WAS OK UNTIL WHEN NEWS WENT ROUND THAT ANOINTING WATER WOULD BE DISTRIBUTED.PEOPLE MADE CALLS INVITING
ON-LOOKERS,BY-PASSERS EVEN THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS WHO WERE HOME TO RUSH TO CHURCH AND THAT CAUSED THE INCIDENT.
I’M JUST TRYING TO ANALYZE THIS AND CONSIDER IT AS MY HUMBLE OPINION.

@Pwele, the bible says touch not my anointed… when it says that, God himself issues that warning. T.B.Joshua is a man, being used by God so its not like he does it for fun or out of his own volition… The bible says that secret things belong to God, what he has made known we all know of.. Let us not promote discrediting things just because we do not understand them, and anger God, a lot of us “Christians” are into finger pointing and we wonder why our lives are the way they are… things of God are discerned by the spirit, without which you cannot understand him.. Gentlemen, be carefull the way you address Men of God. U can incur the wrath of God.
Note that on a saturday live service the man of God cautioned people that the way they are flocking to church is dangerous because it can lead to stampeed. He advised those who have collected Anointing water in the previous service to go back to their various churches so that there is a reasonable number of people. He also advised the senior citizens (Old people) to attend a newly formed service on a Wednesday due to the same problem. This was a timely warning. In fact he also said should the crowed continue like that he will to a different country to minister.

1. He shud have seen the tragedy coming. 2. Yes, he shud be praying for entire rivers so that all ppl can be healed. 3. Better still, let him enter a hospital fm one end & exit through the other healing the ppl that really need healing, not those stage-managed ‘miracles’ on TV. 4. I have refused to worship a mortal human being coz God’s grace upon me is great & Jesus died for my sins. So I’ll only worship God Almighty.

Stampedes occur everywhere. Even at football matches or wherever there is a large gathering. Even Wildebeest or gnus die when they all jostle for a small space, sorry to liken this to what happened. But free things will always attract a horde of people for obvious reasons. The young, the weak, the old, are the vulnerable! May the souls of the dear departed ones rest in peace. I just hope they were genuine Christians, as to a Christian it makes no difference whether they live or die, in fact Paul said to die is gain!

This holy water is not like the holy water which the catholic fathers sprinkle every sunday. There is something attached to this water, that is the anointing of the holy spirit. People have attested to that. Whatever happened was just an accident. We read of a story were Paul was preaching and a young boy fall down from the building and he died. Paul prayed for this boy, that he be resurrected, which actually happened. What happened at SCOAN can happen anywhere were people have gathered.
