Hone Students ASK Union President To Resign After Issuing False Statements On Subsidies

Evelyn hone students have asked their student union president Inambao Sitwala to withdraw his statements or to resign as  students union president after issuing false statements to the media on Subsidies.

Students from the union’s executive who spoke to Tumfweko on condition of anonymity said said the students where  annoyed and disappointed by the behavior of their union president who they said is a PF cadre.

Without the consultations from the students Sitwala inambao is alleged to have run to the media to say Hone students are in support of the recent removal of subsidies on mealie meal and fuel prices.

And other sources claimed Sitwala inambao was given some money by some named politicians to run to the media and give the impression that  Evelyn Hone students were in favor of  the removal of subsidies on Commodities.

Inmabao Stwala howver denied the allegations and has pledged to go the media  today, 20th May 2013,  to clarify to the media that his statements did not represent the opinion of students but but were simply an expression of his own opinion.

Students in these higher institutions of learning are called intellectuals. One wonders why the so called intellectuals fail to understand simple basic economics. At one time subsidies should come to an end and this is the time.I have never seen any country in this world which have subsidies perpetually. They are thinking life at school .what about when they leave school? Surely they have to think about long term measures. Quite dissapointing to say the least.

it is an exhibition of gross management incompetency in any organization to wake up one morning and announce a major change in policy without prior information and preparation no matter how good a policy can be.

imagine going to the bank on your pay day and finding only half of your salary. you ask management and they tell that a the company has made losses in the past 6 months, so from today you will be receiving half salary to save the company from collapse. Isaac are you going to smile at management?

Isaac, u must understand that the pace at which this has been implemented matters. You cannot just offload such a thing on the poor Zambians just like that (Boom). It was supposed to be gradual. I tell you the ompact is so much that people will die of malnutrition (to say the least) on the way to our so called better life. People used to have one meal per day and what makes you believe that they will have two meals in the nearest future??? People lets face the facts, the impact is HUGE out there!! 1st SAP ati sacrifice, then HIPC- tighten ur belts, now this…………CRY MY BELOVED ZAMBIA!!!

The president showing currency on TV (Livingstone), you mean that wasn’t bad enough? Ruling by an Iron rod is not leadership, same with rulling with money.

This never earned Chiluba any respect despite “flushing money around” – This tool never works! If you asked Judas Escariot, he might have told you something.

well put ‘pa zed’. it’s poor management surely, actually it even creates suspicions as to why the subsidies were removed in such a hurry. government should have layed out a road map for those subsidies, communicate with the people of its use so that people can track the so called subsidies, thats democracy, period.
