Zanaco FC are set to be the next big thing in African football as their sponsors Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) with its major share holder Rabobank of Netherlands intend to to turn the club around in to a formidable force on the African continent.
It is understood that the drive is meant to make Zanaco FC one of the biggest clubs in Africa which will attract reputable international players.
Sources close to the development have indicated that ZANACO Bank is ready to pump in up to USD15 Million annually in sponsorship money.
“The MD is seriously considering that type of Sponsorship,” the Zamfoot source stated.
He says that the Gap between what they pay the players in Holland and Zambia is huge and they want to reduce it and also make the team one of the best teams in Africa.”
After signing Zambian international Isaac Chansa last week in a deal that is believed will earn Chansa upto USD 3,000 a month, the bankers are announcing their intention to go big in terms of spending on the current Super League champions.
It is believed that the team’s success last year on the local scene elated the company management but they were disappointed with the teams display in the CAF games and will be looking at ensuring that the team is more efficient in terms of its running and performance both on the local and international scene.

Good idea but I think start by making the bank the largest bank in Africa and it will ultimately make the club the biggest on the continent

It’s the only to go ZANACO, quality costs. But Chansa’s package (if anything to go by) contradicts the company’s intention of bieng one of Africa’s best! US$3000 could be far less than Katumbi is paying at TP.South Africa’s Sundowns pay up to R200,000, which is just over US$21,000 per month! This to me sounds somewhat outrageous, but US$3000 is also certainly too LOW. Something between US$6500 and US$12,000 would be attractive enough in our economy.

That’s great news, they should also consider contracting a new stadium, they can earn serious money through gate takings and TV sponsorship…think big Zanaco football has a lot of business potential in Zambia
