A Solwezi man has miraculously survived a python attack. Kelving Katoka aged 25, an excavator operator at Kansanshi said he was attacked by a python three weeks ago while cutting trees in Kalumbila near Mwinilunga in North-Western Province .
He said the python coiled itself around his body and attempted to squeeze him to death but managed to stab it before his friends came to rescue him. He said his colleagues managed to kill it before it entered its nest
Mr Katoka who has been now been admitted at Kitwe Central hospital for almost a month has appealed to Government and to help him with food and other necessities to help him recover quickly and return to Solwezi. He said he is having difficulties to breathe and also appealed to well-wishers to help him trace his relatives.

Python is a non-poisonous snake that is large and muscular. Being among the biggest and fearsome snakes in Asia, its length can reach up to 15 feet and weight up to 140kg

In my opinion this man attacked the natural python’s habitat and the snake was trying to defend its territory.
