Renard Names 10 Local Players In WC Squad

WHEN DUTY CALLS: Renard shows how it should be done in leading by example to arrange the pitch.

Herve Renard has included 10 local players in his 25 man June’s Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Sudan.

It is for the first time that over one-third of locally based players have been included in the main Chipolopolo side for almost 5 years and this could be an indication of change of guard .

Though he is suspended for the Lesotho match on June 8, first choice goalkeeper Kennedy Mweene has been included as he will be eligible for the tie against Sudan, a week later.

In a desperate move to get game time, Chansa, this month signed a short deal with Super League champions Zanaco and played twice but his form has remained poor. There’s also no place for TP Mazembe forward Jonas Sakuwaha and the injured Stopilla Sunzu.

China based hit-man James Chamanga has been rewarded for his good form in front of goal and he makes a come-back after missing the Lesotho encounter. Also making a come-back is Noah Chivuta who has been mainly used a substitute for Free State Stars this season and this will raise eyebrows

Jonas Sakuwaha who has been a consistent member of the team albeit spending most of the time on the bench has been chopped.

i hate to say that this is probably the BEST, MAYBE the ONLY chance to qualify to the world cup, lets not ruin it ba Zambia, im behind you, but Renard needs to learn something, no one is bigger than the team, not even him, people like Katonga, Kalaba need to be left out! only then will they realize they are not bigger than the team and they will probably step up and be serious.

Sakuwaha is better than Mayuka at the moment.
