The Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) has expressed willingness to form an alliance with other political parties in an effort of strengthening opposition ties amidst continued resignations of Members of Parliament defecting to the ruling Patriotic Front.
MMD acting spokesperson, Muhabi Lungu, says his party has no problem with working with other opposition political parties in the country provided such alliances are based on truthfulness and honest.
Speaking to Qfm in an interview, Mr. Lungu who is also Director of Communication in the office of the MMD president says his party has always wanted to form an alliance with other parties except that the MMD has found it hard to find an opposition political party with genuine intentions of working together.
And commenting on whether the MMD will consider forming a pact with another political party as advised by veteran politician Vernon Mwanga, Mr. Lungu observed that his party will be taken advantage of by another party on premise that the MMD is currently being perceived to be on the decline declined.
Mr. Lungu has further affirmed that the MMD leadership is also in the process of identifying means and ways to bounce back to power in 2016.

As long as you cannot field one candidate at general election level, then stop talking about alliances. You know you have alot of work to do why? mumba wants to go to plot one, Hakainde wants to go to plot one,Fr Bwalya wants to go to plot one,Chipmo wants to go to plot one,Mpombo wants to go to plot one so who will lead that particular alliance? The answer is none hence the fragmentation. And come 2016 PF will have easy win than in 2011 no doubt about that.

I feel sorry for sharp brains like Muhabi Lungu’s…but the problem with this brilliant man is that he is always on the wrong side of the fence!…he stuck to UNIP like a ”tick”, now he’s with the sinking MMD under a very visionless leader from the church!

There is no true observation than this Swine you’re right this man is very very intelligent but his choice for political parties is what is going to exterminate him and later send him to political oblivion perpetually. I remember during the run up to 2011 tripatite elections the way he was debating as Lusaka Central Constituency candidate. He was so factual and very eloquent as he always has been but the parties that he chooses are always plummeting.

MMD was the first to teach the UPND the meaning of unfaithfulness in North Western Province and should therefore teach the opposition the meaning of ‘truthfulness and honest’.

Muhabi lungu is very intelligent and articulate but lacks proper judgement in terms of choice of a political party.MMD is a shell of itself and will never come back to power under that perceived man of God.
