Dear Editor,
I am just making an observation about the ‘man of God’ Pastor KANGWA CHILESHE aka JASON KABANANA the pastor/actor. Watching him preach on TBN and in person, he is very inspiring and charismatic, but then I get surprised when I see the man of the pulpit acting in secular TV programs like ‘Love games’ on ZNBC where he plays a playboy who sleeps recklessly with both single and married women.
There is nothing wrong with pastors acting but can’t he act in Christian programs? Men of God should lead not by what they say but what they do. How does pastor KANGWA CHILESHE expect me to respect him in church on Sunday morning when he is preaching when I just watched him on TV sleeping with a woman or proposing love to a married woman?”

Stop being naive. Acting does not depict one’s true character. Focuss on the serious message being sent which is on HIV/AIDS.

You are the one being naive. Do you think Jesus would act those kinds of films to discourage people from sleeping around? Be real. It is wrong and let us not justify it.

What a shallow mind you have!!!! ahhh….. Naumfwa umwenso!!!
you have said ‘acting’!! that’s just acting.. it’s not real and in fact LOVE GAME is an educative program , what you see there are the realities of life, it’s happening out there…. if you cant respect him as pastor because of the roles he plays, then kindly mind your own business and find some other pastor you can respect. no one is asking you to respect him. i on the other hand knows that his name is KANGWA CHILESHE not jason kabanana or the other name he’s called in love game. acting is teaching on it’s on!!!

The bible says christians should keep away from the ways of the world and Jesus said he was hated by the world because he was no part of the world. So how can someone be a circular actor at the same time a pastor or man of God? It means he does not know where he stands.

Pastor Chileshe, stop it and do something else. That is neither good for you nor for your church. Why should you be acting in such a manner. God is going to give you something else which will help you provide your daily necessities to your lovely family. With God nothing is impossible and you are the people who even preach that. If there is any other role you can play in that movie then switch to that one but if not then just quit.Do not allow people to give you wrong advises.

That’s The Problem With Us Zambians. Just Focused On The Negative Side Of Everything. Why Can’t We Ever Focus On The Positive Angle. First And Foremost Love Games Is Not Just A Soap, It Is Edutainment Meant To Teach Whilst Entertaining. Education In An Entertainment Format. Secondly Kangwa Is Not Just A Pastor, He Is An Actor As Well. I Have Watched Church Plays At Some Big Churches With A Cast Of Senior Church Members Portraying The Different Ills In Society. Leave Kangwa Alone If You Are Not Going To Support Him Or If You Lack The Ability (Which Even Most Children Under Five Have) To Tell The Difference Between Acting And Real Life. Plus He Gat Kids To Feed! Come On Guys!

Last time there waz an issue about some so called “Gospel Muzik” album releasez. Some so called “Gospel Artists” are out-doing their own releasez and each other, day in day out, just to “preach” the Word for money. The story iz not very different with some men/women of the pulpit.

Bishop TD Jakes is also an actor, but he plays respectable roles in all the movies. It’s not about acting or being an engineer… its about character and building a good reputation, so that people are not mislead.

The question he should is, Am I being led by the Holy Spirit or am i being led by the desires of the fresh. It is a difficult thing for a man of God to take such roles. I have no problem with those christians who do christian programes, but to have a christian take a role in unchristian program it raises a lot of questions.

If you have passion for acting, take the good role of preaching in a movie or adviser of good morals. Surely, those who can’t see the wrong in the current role are sick. People are bringing the worldly things into God’s house. Change please and go the right way.

I think the writer and all you saying bad things about the man of God you missing the message in love games that’s not just acting but they there is teaching you can learn from love games or is that you are convicted by it stop accusations and concentrate on the message.

Thats a a hard one. However you should be able to distinguish between who Kangwa is and the persnality he has in the movie.
We have christians that work for zambrew. Its the same dilemma. Should they or should they not?
What does the bible say should guide us and not our feelings.
For the sake of eliminating the aspect of people stambling like the writter here, it would be best to change the role. This would be the only basis otherwise its a challange.

the role that he plays just doesnt add up with his calling. If the directors were that serious, they wouldnt even have considerd him for this role. Its so disturbin to watch him play such parts in the movies.

The writer and all you are saying nast things about man of God. U are missing the message in love games that’s not just acting but they there is teaching you can learn from love games or is that you are convicted by it stop accusations and concentrate on the message. Him is purely preaching in action that, it reality worldly people doing without realising the impact and the shame or lossing their diginity. Do understand, not just complain.

Am reminded of a Tyler Perry movie in which a question is asked, WHAT WOULD JESUS DO (WWJD)? Always when caught up in the needs and wants of this world, as a Christian, pause this question to yourself and answer it truthfully. I implore Pastor Chileshe to do the same.
