Scandalised By The Media, Bishop Chika Speaks Out

By SALOME MATANTILO KASONDA

THE name Emmanuel Chika is not new to many people. He is known for his boldness and ability not only to prophesy but also help deliver people from the hold of Satan.

He is a pastor who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. He decided to stay off the media headlines for a while. But he decided to share his story with us and testify about the goodness and faithfulness of the Lord.

Bishop Chika of Restoration Deliverance Ministries International Church was born in 1968. He shares that he was called at the tender age of 4. He is married to Alice Kasonde and is a father of 3.

“God called me when I was 4 years old.  He said as my mouth says, it shall happen. He told me I shall not die by the hands of men or by accident. He told me He will satisfy me with long life. God has a purpose for my life,” he says.

When he was young, his parents divorced and the children (including Chika) were taken to Nyimba.

According to Bishop Chika, if children were born and raised in Lusaka, a parent needed to give a sacrifice of one child.

“So witches were sent to kill me. There is a time I got very sick in the village. I had to be brought to Lusaka from the village because I was almost dying,” he said.

It was at this point that he started staying with his sister who was staying in Lusaka at the time.

“A lot of bad things happened to me but I told myself that I would be a great man,” he recalls.

He explains that at some point, he went to N’gombe compound to stay with his father and step mother but life there was not rosy. He recalls that on average he only used to eat one meal as his step mother deliberately decided to send him on errands during meal times.

Despite having a relatively difficult childhood, he forgives those that hurt him when he was young.

It was in 1982, when he was staying in Kaunda Square Stage 1 with his elder sister that his journey into ministry started.

“At first it wasn’t anything serious. I started when my sister had her first born child. I used to preach and lay hands on people and they used to get well. It all started like a joke but what surprised people was that those I laid hands on used to get well,” he said.

At the time, Bishop Chika had very little knowledge of the Bible but he soon developed an interest in studying the Bible.

Later in life, he went to Deeper Life Church where he started to minister as a mere brother and not a pastor.

“I never rebelled against any pastor I worked with. No pastor I worked under ever complained about it,” he said.

In 1995, he went to George Compound to start his own church. With time, the church grew. He later moved to Vera Chiluba School.  But as expected, not everyone will be happy with another’s success. His progress almost spelled doom for him.

His elevation into ministry came when he was staying in Kalingalinga compound.  He explains that he was poor and had nothing. But on that fateful day, one of his neighbours brought a dead girl from the mortuary. According to Bishop Chika, the man brought her so the Man of God could merely pray for the body before burial. But to everyone’s surprise, after praying for her, the girl who was from the mortuary came back to life.

This caused a media frenzy and MUVI TV carried the story and before he knew it, his church grew.

He explains that his ordeal started when he started his Church at Vera Chiluba School. The church was doing fine and the Ministry of Education made a proposal to him saying if he could build the hall at the school, he would be allowed to operate in the hall for a certain period of time until he builds his own church. He built the hall and all seemed to be moving according to plan.

He explains that soon he started seeing rebellion from his church leaders.

“They wanted to dethrone me and so they decided to use any form of accusations just to bring my name down. Deep down, I knew those stories were coming from my church members. In church, I would tell them that I trust them but I knew who was who,” he says.

One of the interesting rumours that took rounds in the media was that Bishop Chika impregnated 10 women from his church.

It was in the midst of the church confusion that on a fateful day, he travelled to Chisamba with US$39,000 in his car. The money was meant for buying of iron sheets for the church.

“One of my pastors called me and asked me where I was going and I told him I was going to Chisamba. I don’t want to reveal his name. But this same pastor in the company of other people went ahead of me,” he says.

He remembers seeing his black car (being driven by his pastor) parked ahead of him and before he knew it, he felt coldness on his side.

“I touched my side and I just saw some water. At the time, I didn’t know that I had been shot. I lost control and had an accident,” he says.

He went into comma for 3 months. The money he had with him was stolen. While he was in coma, K575 million was withdrawn from his account.

When he woke up, he tried to explain what he had seen but the police did little to help.

Soon afterwards, he was accused of being involved in human trafficking and was investigated.

As though that was not enough, someone tried to blackmail him and told him to pay 18 million if he did not want to be embarrassed.

“I used bad words on them. I told them, I don’t urinate money,” he says.

It was his denial to comply with his blackmailers that led to a woman whom Bishop Chika says was paid to accuse him of impregnating her and running away from his responsibilities.

Because of the negative publicity he was receiving, the ministry of education chased him from Vera Chiluba School. He explained that he got his flock and went with them to his plot where his church was being built.

Before he knew it, the photos of the house he was building were in the papers with people calling for an investigation in his activities.

Bishop Chika laments that when he was going through these trials, no pastor went to visit and console him.

“But I never reacted to any negative comment. I will only talk at an appropriate time when God tells me. Even the women that are being used,  I am not angry at them. That woman was used because of poverty. I forgive everyone but for now silence is the best key,” he says.

The negative publicity did not go unnoticed. Some of his church members left but today he testifies that his church is growing.

Today the church has 311 branches all over the world and he oversees all the churches. He currently has about 1000 members but he is believing God for 5000 members.

Chika is a serious liar, womaniser and crook and no amount of publicity will launder his dirty background. Ask him why he pretends to be a Nigerian.

Making billions so fast ba Chika. It was not the church of God but your empire that you were building. How could you be moving with church money in your car? There is no accountability in that and this is why the government must start auditing these churches and these pastors must start explaining where they get such colosal amounts of money.I believe a Church need to have a finance department and a pastor must not be allowed to keep church funds or even coming close to the money.Ba Chika nacimbi you must know that healing and prophesy are two different things.Because you healed people does not make you a prophet no.

    Pastor Chika,
All men of God have suffered as you have. Your reward is big and God will bless. As I read, I feel as though it were me and I feel the agony. Do not worry there is a God who will judge the quick and the dead. I want to meet Pastor, I bealive you are a man of God and God is about to restore all that was stolen and taken away from you. And forgive these other men of God did not come to console you but Jesus was there. The one who called you took care of you he never left you cheerup.

People of God,it is so dangerous for anyone to make such evil conclusions on Bishop chika because he is only accountable to God and no one else.Let us learn to repsect men of God and never pass any negative comment, some of you will be in situations that can not be explained bcoz you touched the anointed man of God.Remember Saul and how that guy killed him and went rejoicing before David thinking Daivid would be happy with his move, and though Saul had fallen before God but David rebuked that man saying,”are you not afraid to raise your arm against the anointed one of God?”,and the man was rewarded with death

When was he anointed, did God tell you he was anointed, or you believe every man with a building and shouts at the top of his lungs every sunday with a few people listening is a man of God?
These pastors stop you from questioning their activities by saying touch not my anointed, which I think is ******. If God himself tells us to check what he teaches us in the bible and not be blind followers, who is a pastor to tell me not to question his activities?
Follow God and not these ‘men of GoLD’. Your pastor will not speak on your behalf to God, you will be alone, so make an independent judgement when it comes to Gods matters.
