Russian Clubs Eye Isaac Chansa

Isaac Chansa is set to return to the PSL for the 2013/14 season, though a move to Russia could also be on the cards.

KickOff.com has learnt that the Zambian international, who is currently at Zanaco on a three-month deal, has had enquiries from two Russian clubs.

However, it is thought the former Orlando Pirates midfielder would prefer to settle %u2013 and finish his career %u2013 in South Africa rather than uproot his family to a notoriously difficult place like Russia.

Chansa’s agent, Ashley Rasool, confirms the interest from both overseas and local sides.

“Enquiries have been made by two Russian clubs which we are assessing, as well as a host of PSL clubs, which is to be expected given his free agent status,” he tells KickOff.com.

“At 29 Isaac is at the peak of his career, so all factors have to be considered, including that of his family and their desired location. This is particularly important when assessing foreign options.

“One way or another, Isaac’s future will be decided within the coming weeks. While there remains an abundance of local interest, realistically two or three options remain viable.

“The local transfer market has been in a lull, but with recent managerial appointments we’re expecting things to move swiftly.”

KickOff.com has since learnt that SuperSport United %u2013 where Chansa spent some time training a few months ago %u2013 Bidvest Wits and Moroka Swallows are the frontrunners for his signature.

I watched Chansa play for few minutes in the Warriors Vs Zanaco at Godfrey chitalu stadium last weekend. The minutes were so few to make an informed decision on his form.
If there are clubs interested in him I would adise he remains in South Africa and goes to Moroka Swallows.Wish him the best.
