HH ‘Grateful’ He Is Still In Opposition

HAKAINDE Hichilema says he is grateful to God that he is still in the opposition and not in President Michael Sata’s government which he accused of being heavily corrupt.
But several callers to Kitwe’s Radio Icengelo Face to Face programme yesterday accused Hichilema of being selfish, bitter and hypocritical on the issue of by-elections and failing to acknowledge the strides the PF and its government had made in uplifting the living standards of the people.
Speaking on Radio Icengelo yesterday morning, Hichilema said the PF-UPND pact collapsed because the PF refused to address pertinent issues and ideals that could have governed the pact.
“God is good all the time, He is a great God. We in the UPND asked the PF that we ought to agree on how to run the country if we form government but the PF indicated that they were not interested in that as a matter of priority. They used to say ‘Naiwe HH, finshi ulelanda? Bwangu-bwangu iseni twakane utupuna fimbi fika isova kuntanshi (You HH, what are you saying? Let’s share positions quickly, things will sort themselves out in future). Today the PF is in government and they have no plan…we are vindicated today, those that thought we made a mistake they have an answer,” Hichilema said. “This is biblical because in those olden days, the children of God were crying, they wanted a king and after pushing, God gave them Saul and those who read the Bible they know what Saul did to them, mistreating them, ill-treating them and this is what we are seeing now.”
He said he was very happy that President Sata and the PF formed government alone because the mismanagement of the country, unemployment levels, hunger and many challenges would have been attributable to the UPND as well.
Hichilema said the PF did not come to power for the people but for themselves.
He said there was total chaos in the running of government by the PF.
“There is no cohesion in this government, there is no planning, and there is no execution. Today one minister will stand up and say they are banning exports of maize, three days later another one says ‘no, we are lifting the ban’. There is no cohesion in this government. You’ve heard some people say, ‘HH is bitter in other parts of the country’, they are now saying ‘alitwebele umulumendo’ (the gentleman warned us) and he was right,” Hichilema claimed.
He further said the by-elections that have been witnessed in various parts of the country were caused by President Sata whom he further accused of buying-off members of parliament from the opposition.
Hichilema said his strong members of parliament in the UPND have withstood the pressures and enticements to serve in President Sata’s government.
“How are we the opposition creating by-elections? It’s the PF that is doing that. It must not be in anyone’s mind that it’s the opposition. You remember that President Sata at one point when he was swearing in a deputy minister from the opposition, he indicated that he was inviting other opposition MPs to cross to the PF, he will give them free vehicles, free fuel and allowances. That’s corruption, this is an affront to democracy,” Hichilema said.
But callers questioned Hakainde’s stance over by-elections when the UPND was also expelling members of parliament that were serving in the PF government.
“Yes, an MP is appointed to serve as deputy minister. I have in mind Richwell Siamunene whom you’ve expelled. The problem is that you say things that suit you only. Some of you can’t form government because of selfishness, you don’t want to work with anybody,” said a caller who identified himself as James Nkaki of Kalulushi.
Another caller, Albert Mwetwa, accused Hichilema of having companies around the country and abroad but doing nothing for Zambia.
Mwetwa said Hichilema could not do anything good for Zambia because of being inconsistent and unrealistic on matters of governance.
Timothy Kambilima of Luanshya, in a text message to the programme, challenged Hichilema to be truthful because the price of mealie-meal was still around KR55 despite the removal of subsidies.
“You are very selfish Mr HH, that’s why it will be difficult for you to assume power. Looking at your wealth you talk about every time, how many people do you help? How many donations have you made? You always complain even on things that you know…if you had any quality leadership, but you’ve never held any political position, so it’s very difficult for you to convince us,” said another caller who identified himself as Danny from Chililabombwe.

HH is on the move and looking unstoppable. Ignore him at your own peril. Continue listening to Hon. Sakeni about how far behind HH is when the guy is giving them and the entire group serious sleepless nights. Rethink your opinion on this guy. He is on a very serious mission with serious and sure strides.

Kapandula thats dangerous, no one this time around can go to sate house without copperbelt and northen provinces mark my words. Mwanawasa won, those were ligged elections. Sata would have been president way back in 2006. I can assure you HH will not manage without these two provinces. Zambia is like USA noone can go to White House without winning Florida. Ignore this,at your own paril.

This is a telling statement coming from this bloviating ignoramus. He is essentially saying f*uck the country as long as his name is not “tainted”. I am surprised people overlook such telling revelations that these people make about themselves. With everything else he has screwed up, this statement is what disqualifies this man from being president…. this is really about self-aggrandisement and has non to do with the Zambian people.

In his speach, one can still see or hear a sense of tribal remark. What type of man is. There was one man he was saying once this man wins, the language in Lusaka will automatically change. Tonga will take a centre stage is that not tribalism of some sort? I shadder what type of zambia we shall likely to have with this man.
