Renard Snaps In Aftermath Of 4-0 Win
Victorious Chipolopolo coach Herve Renard did not lose his moment of glory to give a dig at his critics that he has promised to surprise with World Cup qualification.
Speaking in the wake of Zambia’s 4-0 victory over Lesotho in a Brazil 2014 World Cup qualifier, Renard said he would surprise the critics of the Chipolopolo once again by qualifying Zambia to the World Cup.
The Frenchman continued his black out of the press by refusing to take questions from the media, a custom he has stuck to over the Chipolopolo’s camp for the two World Cup qualifiers.
“I read a lot of bad things both from the press and the public. Do no not worry we are not dying we will surprise you again,” said Renard.
“I will leave because I am not taking questions. I read something in the Proflight Magazine that was bad.
Renard however paid tribute to the thousands of fans that turned up to cheer the Chipolopolo.
“First of all I would like to give a big thank [you] to all the fans who came for the match I did not expect them to come,” he said.
Renard said the players did a good job but he hoped that the Chipolopolo wind up the campaign top of their group.
“It is important on our way to finish first in our group,” he said. “Hope we will do the same for Sudan. Ghana did very well yesterday but we hope we will do well against them.”
Renard has in the recent past gone cold on the press during a period Zambia has not been doing well.
After Zambia’s first 4-0 win since September 5, 2010, Renard took a swipe at the local media and openly denied granting them the right to ask him any questions.
Zambia has had a patchy run with the team having last won a competitive match in September last year against Uganda.
The team had also come under fire for their poor form since winning the Africa Cup in 2012.
Zambia finished the 2013 Africa Cup with three successive draws that dumped them out of the tournament.

My observation over many years is that Zambia only performs well when they are being condemned. Lets keep on the condemnation and they will qualify. He has never really liked Mbesuma and Jacob Mulenga but du to public pressure he played them and they scored. Keep on the pressure !!!!

A word of caution to Chishimba Kambwili. Never promise players hefty cash before the game. From records way back in 80s and 90s whenever players were promised extra cash they tended to perform poorly and below par. All you can do is to give them a token of appreciation after a win.
A win next week against Sudan will make Chipolopolo with two options of a win or draw to qualify to the next stage.

how I wish they will not qualify cos they will go nowhere,its not about making a name but its about the standed of playing at the would cup so I would lather see ghana qualify cos they have a better team than ours.

Guys qualifying to the world cup is a dream come true. Only half of the teams qualify to the next round of the final world cup tournament. We should be proud if we just qualify like Jamaica did.

bane i wish to disagree with you because our team is very weak and can not withstand the pressure from very versatile teams like that of Ghana.You know what it is extremely foolish to live in an utopia.Sorry guys i watched Zambia in 1985 when the likes of Jack Chanda,david Chabala,Laban Kalunga,Kalu…outplayed the then mighty Cameeroon it was so nice not the this football of today.

There was Laban Chishala and NOT Laban Kalunga (Mmusician).
Your mixed up of names and associating musicians and supporters to national team of yesteryears entails that you were maybe listening to radio commentaries of liwewe and not a chance of watching lads in action when KK 11 whitewashed 4-0 the once upon a time the indomitable lions of Africa, Cameroon.

thanks for the correction on laban chishala but the real name of efford Chabala was david chitumba chabala.the mighty cameeroon or the indomitable lions as most prefered to be reffered to were a thorn in the flesh for mang and if that team of abene tony antoneo bell,in goal,were to play the present zed team of yours kuti mipamba sheka sheka.that match i remember was televised and true as you put it listened to the commentries by dennis much as i watched it on television.as for efford chabala record are there to say that his real name is david and his father was a staunch Jehoval’s witness

Even Effort Chabala was a staunch Jehovah’s Witness. He never smoked nor consumed alcohol. He used to train off season with the likes of Ngupeni, Lackson Manda, Danny Momfya.

Previous match was a draw so its not a weak team. Our men were turning selfish hunting for personal glory. Yesterday they resorted to team work and that was the key to the result. Also midfield never used to keep the ball when Kalaba was missing. This changed yesterday and if they do that always,no problem!!

Ba Jojo, and all you others ponting pa Chipolopolo, how many times has Zambia played Ghana in the last 10 years and whats the record. elo saying abena chabala and kalu were the best is irrelevant and besides the point coz they never brought nay real glory to Zambia aprt from east and central africa challenge cup. Its on record Zambia have been african champions because of the same players you are calling useless. what has the mighty ghana won in the last 10 years???????????

So coach wants us to just sit back and watch? No we wont do that. Coachs and players all over the world are condemned, insulted and called all sorts of names even if they’re the worlds best. Frustrating though, they continue doing their thing. If Renard is man enough let him behave and do what is right. We are in this together. Its not a one man show. Its our money

I can see we have grand fathers who claim the 0 cups old days are better,i know we used to be cheated by radio commentaries.This team is the most fan disrespected team in the world when on record haven’t been beaten in two AFCONS and the ongoing qualifiers and those who claim ghana is better are shameful and back stabbing hypocritical supporters.We have beaten your mighty ghana twice in a role and am sure when we win you the same people will claim the talk glory.shame on you.CHIPOLOPOLO ALL THE WAY EVEN IF WE FAIL TO QUALIFY
