Zambia Police in Chibolya just announced the discovery of an arms cache of 200 semi-automatic rifles with 250,000 rounds of ammunition.
10 anti tank missiles, 4 grenade Launchers, 2 tonnes of HEROIN, K80,000 in forged Zambian Kwacha banknotes and 25 trafficked prostitutes all in a block of flats behind the Chibolya Library. Local residents were stunned.
A community spokesman said, “we are shocked. we never knew we had a library!!”

But Chibolya zoona. Ati “A community spokesman said, “we are shocked. we never knew we had a library!!”” Meaning the discovery of all the other things is all in a days work. That is normal life. That does not shock the spokesperson. But the library shocked him. Hehehehehehehehe!

Indeed, why wasn’t this dander head of a spokesman shocked by the military hardware and human trafficking in his community?
This level of ineptitude in community representation is totally ridiculous.
These shanty compounds save very little meaningful contribution to the economic activities of Lusaka. It is high time the city council start re-evaluating these compounds.

This is not new phenomenon, all our security wings are aware of the horrible acts Chibolya is known for. But my question is Why and why is government relaxing to comb this mafia shanty township? there should be some big fishes within high ranks who are behind this. This is unacceptable, let the President declare a curfew in Chibolya and deal with this horrible situation once and for all.FOREWARNED IS FOREARMED.

It’s true, I agree with you. More to your concerns, I am surprised that this situation still exists in Chibolya because in 1977 when I was in the voluntary Zambia National Service, we had what was called Óperation Clean-up’. This Óperation involved personnel from the Zambia Army, Zambia Air Force (with helicopters in case culprits hid some things on rooftops), the ZNS, the OP (SD), police and the Immigration Dept. We had cleared a lot of assorted arms in Chibolya and Kanyama that time. I suggest that that Operation be revisited by our security personnel again.

Those of us who were there can remember the operation, it was beneficial. I concur with you, let the gavulumende do something like that.

Chibolya should be demolished, relocate the residents and pave way for the extension of the town centre. Whoever was there to allow the mushrooming of that shanty compound did not plan it correctly. Lusaka City Council, kindly re-plan our capital city!

Do those weapons have ANC marks? ANC exiles, freedom fighters, had the biggest community settled in Chibolya. Lately, some explosives from that cache have been exploding in the hands of kids on the play grounds. Plz check and let us know (Gorilaz)so that we help u clean up the messy.
