Renard had set pieces at the core of his session as he lined up his charges on either flank to float the crosses in the box for the defenders and strikers to aerially outdo each other.
The first set that was under a hands on Patrice Beaumelle had Fwayo Tembo, Mukuka Mulenga and Mukuka Mulenga curling the balls for box action that had Hichani Himoonde and Kondwani Mutonga thwarting Collins Mbesuma, Jacob Mulenga and Nathan Sinkala’s threat.
First choice Kennedy Mweene predictably took his place between the posts in what looked a first choice assemblage.
Curiously the contenders for the left back position had joined the second string maybe being given special attention.
Here Joseph Musonda, Emmanuel Mbola and Chisamba Lungu were laying set pieces for James Chamanga, Emmanuel Mayuka and Bonwell Mwape.
Stoppilla Sunzu also had his shift at the heart of the second string assemblage.
Danny Munyao and Davy Kaumbwa had their turns in goal with Christopher Munthali and Sydney Kalume thrown in the fray.
Davies Nkausu, Jimmy Chisenga, Alex Ngonga and Kabaso Chongo were knocking the ball from the Southern end of the pitch having taken the right flank.
Zambia put up an improved performance against Lesotho that saw two goals come from crosses with Fwayo Tembo and Katongo having provided the assists from wide play.
The team will take a break this afternoon to loosen up after a rigorous session.
There was relief as the lads strolled to the team bus although Mayuka and maybe Tembo may have cursed their luck for being singled out for the pitch volleyball ritual that shirtless Renard and Beaumelle have made a habitual pracatice after training.

I have said it on more occasions and will repeat it here that playing Chisamba lungu in the defensive position is a giant error. His ability to take on defenders, those defence splitting passes and his vision instantly qualify him for that position in the middle of the park. Why he ends up as a defender when there is overwhelming evidence to the contrary beats me.
That notwithstanding, I wish the Chipolopolo the best of luck.To deflate the tyres of Mazda, the lads need to shoot two bullets in the first half, and it will be all over.
