Kalu Tips Zambia To Beat Ghana In Kumasi

Football Association of Zambia,FAZ President Kalusha Bwalya believes Zambia will advance to the next round ahead Ghana.

Though the Black Stars are now a point ahead the Chipolopolo Boys after the weekend’s fixtures which saw Zambia held at home by Sudan in a ‘grudge match’ and 24 hours later Ghana beat Lesotho 2-0, the 1988 African Footballer of the Year still has faith in Zambia.

“I am confident that we will go through to the next round. We will go to Ghana to beat them,” Great Kalu has been quoted in Zambia Daily Mail.

Kalusha is not new to this rivarly between the two countries and come September, he will be telling the boys about the spirit of the 1988 squad, who defied odds and held their own and dumped a star studded Black Stars to qualify to the Seoul Olympics.

Back then, Zambia again had Ghana on it’s way and goals from Wisdom Chansa and Kalusha earned the KK11 side a 2-0 win in the first leg. Despite that advantage to Zambia, many tipped Ghana to overtun the leg but they failed as they could only manage a goal courtesy of an Abdul Razak strike. Zambia advanced to thanks to a 2-1 aggregate and the rest is history.

A decade later, it was another Olympics qualifier decider but this time a Ghana side led by Micheal Essien and Sulley Muntari triumphed over a Peter Kaumba coached side with the likes of Collins Mbesuma, Chris Katongo, Noah Chivuta, Billy Mwanza in its ranks.

The battle in Kumasi won’t be an easy one but it could another chance for Zambia to make a statement.

YOU’RE RIGHT. THIS KALU THING IS A DREAMER. YOU COULD’NT BEAT LESOTHO AT HOME, LOST TO SUDAN AND NOW THINK YOU CAN WIN IN GHANA? STOP DREAMING MAN, JUST SHIFT YOUR ATTENTION TO COSAFA.

YES ZAMBIA CAN QUALIFY IF ONLY WE STOP PRETENDING. THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IS THAT WE HAVE THE PLAYERS BUT HAVE NO COACH. THE TRUTH OF THE MATTER IS THAT RENARD CAN NOT READ A GAME AND AS LONG AS WE KEEP HIM FORGET BEATING GHANA. IF IT WAS A ZAMBIAN COACH HE WOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED A LONG TIME AGO. WE NEED A TECHNICAL BENCH THAT CAN READ A GAME NOT THE PRESENT BENCH. AND PLIZ WE ALL KNEW THAT LESOTHO WERE THE WHIPPING BOYS BUT THE WAY WE OVER RATED OURSELVES AFTER THAT WIN COULD HAVE EVEN MADE OUT PLAYERS OVERCONFIDENT. LETS CALL A SPADE A SPADE. ITS TIME WE BROT IN PIPO WHO CAN READ A GAME. IF WE CANT GET RID OF RENARD AS HE HAS A LOT OF SUPPORT, THEN LET US REINFORCE THE TECHNICAL BENCH. MBUNJI T. LUSAKA

Have you forgotten that Zambia has beaten Ghana two times under Herve Renard? Be serious men. We beat Ghana here 1-0 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and we beat them again in Gabon 1-0 and both times it was under the same coach you’re denouncing today.

The way football is, it is easy for Ghana to loose at their back yard. Their campaign has been fantastic especially the away games. But the tricky part about football is that they might loose at home while all the away games had been won. This is football and for sure Zambia’s chances are not over until its over.

Guyz, lets not lose hope. In soccer everything is possible. Ghana popularly known as black stars will fall to a copper bullet. Only that who is not a patriotic zambian and strongly believes in our lads can lose hope. Lets rekindle the spirit we had in 2012 in Gabon, many nations thoughtit won’t be possible but it was written in the sky that we shall be crowned 2012 Afcon champions. Even now notwithstanding the fact that we drew with Sudan its has already been written in the sky that we shall qualify to Brazil next year. Viva Zambia one copper bullet that demolished big elephants from Ivory Coast.

Kalusha still lives in the Seoul dream! Zambia’s football died in Gabon with that ZAF nonsense. We shouldn’t even go into any competitions till we learn the basics of football. Zambia still plays “Chimpombwa” footbal while paying Renard sacks of doillars for nothing. Kalusha, just go to sleep in South Africa, you are a shame!

Living in a dream world. Load of crap, Kalusha is just arrogant, if he had helped in moulding footballers & arranging for professional contracts without getting a cut, Zambia would be a level higher. Concentrate on the local tourneys!

there is time for everything. let us support our team. help them gain professional training abroad for two months from now. most of the players lack professional skills. professional clubs in south america and europe can help our team gain the lost glory. let us not lose hope.prepare a good intensive program for our players.

we have a good team ,if only the coach can put the right people in the game at the right time . Ghana is a good team but is has weakness just like zambia . BOTH TEAMS DEPENDS ON MIDDLEFIELDERS SO WICHEVER TEAM WILL HAVE A STRONG MID WILL CARRY THE DAY .BUT THE WORY IS THAT GHANA MAY PLAY FOR A DROW .
