Nelson Mandelas Family Discusses Whether To Withdraw Treatment

Nelson Mandela is unresponsive  and has not opened his eyes for days now and his immediate family is now discussing whether to withdraw treatment, According to UK’s Daily Mail

The 94-year-old has been in hospital for over two weeks battling a recurring lung infection, but previous statements have indicated that Mr Mandela’s health is improving.

Since he was admitted, he has had two recent procedures, one to repair a bleeding ulcer and another to insert a tube into his body, CBS News reports.

This information indicates that Mr Mandela’s situation is much more much more serious than has been reported by South African authorities.

Ba Isaac, God is not a magician, he cant do magic! He is the creator of all things, those with a breath and without a breath. Those we can see and the ones we will never see. So even as we pray we need to remember this. English isnt my mother tongue, so I ve failed to use “Magic” and “Supernatural” interchangeably. However, Im with you in prayer that God gives our old man more days on this earth and makes him well. God bless!

Wish he could reach a hundred years, but life is always in the hands of one true God, Jehova. If it’s time so be it and wishing the great son of Africa a peaceful journey to the other side of life.

A time to be born, a time to live, a time to die. If apartheid did not rob him of his 27 years, he would have reached more than 110 year. I wish the family strength at this difficult time.

What is the doctors’ advise they know better, families make decisions out of feelings and without much thought. If Mandela is unresponsive and probably brain dead, then they should pull the plug but if all his organs are working and they can treat the ulcer and the lung infection, I do not think it is a good idea to stop the treatment. It is simply better to let nature play its role. The SA govt has really not said exactly what his real condition is sadly!

Death is something we must look forward to positively after exhausting our energetic earthly life. Some of us with fathers, brothers who have died do eagerly look forward to separate with this earth so that we can see them again. Therefore, let us not look at Mandela death as being the beginning of people who are dying. Church, spiritual, historians, presidents, Jesus Christ died. Let us move on.

Does God allow mercy killing or is it still considered murder? I think at his age the family can decide if they think he can’t come back

mercy killing is not a sin. if madiba is irresponsive and if at all he cannot and will not survive without a machine then let him go and rest in peace. we will still live to cherish him.

Nobody would want to die slowly. But for the bereaved, it helps coz it doesn’t take them by surprise. They kind of get used before their deloved finally says bye. News papers have already put Madiba’s obituary on the plate ready for printing. Anyway …
