Jacob Mulenga Snubs Turkey Move

Jacob Mulenga says he dreams of playing at a higher level and has turned down an offer to play for Turkish side Konyaspor.

The Algemeen Dagblad reported that the Turkish club has made him an offer. The Zambian international has however opted to wait for other options.

Mulenga has a contract until 2014 but his club seems desperate to offload their most prized assert at the end of this season because of his high wage bill as he is one of the highest paid players at his club.

A few weeks ago, Real Sociedad showed interest in Mulenga but have not made an official approach.

The striker who was Utecht’s top scorer last season had earlier stated his clear ambition to play in the premiership.

“It has always been my ambition to play football in the Premier League,” he said.

Intended moves to Reading and Norwich City in January failed to materialize due to various reasons not stated.

He netted 14 goals for Utrecht last season to help the side finish in fifth position on the log and a spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League.

He netted 3 times in Zambia’s two home World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Sudan.

why try to offload him and NOT give him a Contract Extension?????

If he was top Goal Scorer, why not reward him with a pay rise and an extension????

Zed players not being recognized despite performing greatly some of them like Jacob!!

C’mon am sure your comprehension is not up to speed!Let me help you…they want to off load him not because he cannot deliver but because he is costing them a lot in wages…he is the highest player at Utrecht!
