RB’s Diplomatic Passport Revoked

Ufisanji Mambala: RB breaks down during his farewell speech, Thandiwe looks on
Government has revoked the diplomatic passport for former president Rupiah Banda in President Michael Sata and his cartel comprising chief propagandist Fred M’membe, Mutembo Nchito and Wynter Kabimba’s continued humiliation of the fourth Head of State.
Home Affairs permanent secretary Willie Manjimela has confirmed the situation and that the immigration in all borders have been instructed not to entertain Banda’s passport whenever it has been presented.
Manjimela said Banda’s passport D-001224 has been canceled and it has ceased to have effect at any border entry points.
The decision has been attributed to criminal investigations and court cases that the former president is currently facing although the Zambian laws presumes anyone innocent until proved guilty.

You are wrong. He used to get his passport from GRZ everytime he wanted to go out. If you excercise your memory. FTJ was at one time denied permission to go for treatment. What is happenning to Mr RB is not unusual. In France Sarckoz is facing charges while in Italy Berlasconi has just been sent to jail for 7 years. Some more cases are up against him.RB has been misbehaving everytime he goes out the country.

Chiluba’s case is toatally different from that of Rupiah Bwezani. Chiluba had no lawyers from out the country. Chiluba planely said and i quote: I do not want to be tried outside my country nor be represented by any lawyer out side this country. Rupiah’s international lawyers are insulting Zambians by calling them useful idiots a good example is Amsterdam. Do you think the govt can allow Rupiah to meet with his abussive lawyer outside this country while using a diplomatic passport which belongs to the state ?

Iam not a political animal but I strongly feel this is too much for the old man.He is just human and a family man like anybody else. What is the fear?He surrendered power peacefully. What more do you want? Where can he run to? This behavoiur is similar to flies which follow the dead body to the grave. To feast on what?Common.Sooner or later some people currently serving in current govt will dance to the same tune.

What is too much is the millions embezzled by Banda and family, the number kids denied medication as a result of losing this money, the number who have died driving on poor roads that the money could have used to repair….

I thought that the Courts allowed him to travel. Much as the Government is trying to work, ignoring the Rule of Law only hurts Zambia. I wonder how much FDI is coming into Zambia. Any rational investor will not bring their money in a Country where the Rule of law is disregarded by the Government. It explains why the country has little money of its own, mines scaling down etc…..I personally expect better from my Government and not this.

Unless you are not in Zambia. There are a lot of investor coming daily in Zambia even in the DRC. Investment is not about protecting criminals. RB influenced the release of FTJ hoping that the next President would do the same to him. Justice must prevail. Even in Europe former presidents are currently facing prosecutions. Infact one has been jailed fo 7 years in Italy. Infact the EU knows exactly how much was stolen by any African leader.

Ndaje i can’t i gree with you more than this. The passport which the govt is talking about, is the same passport he uses to go out and meet with his insulting lawyer called Amsterdam. We can’t allow that.

The court did not ask the state to give him a diplomatic passport but a passport. So cancellation of diplomatic passport is in line with the state’s decision my dear.

Manjimela is not Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs but deputy PS.What cartel are you talking about?this is purely a legal matter and has nothing to do with Mmembe.Get your facts straight.

Berluscon of Italy is going for 7 years, for such criminallities what more Rupiah what is so spaecial about him. Italy is much advanced than Zambia they would have let their man go scot free but they said no a criminal is a criminal. Berluscon being a former Prime Minister of Italy is more powerful than Rupiah but he is in now for 7 yrs

very retrogressive move by Govt. where are we heading? Going back to kaunda? Let this Govt know we voted for FREEDOM!

June 28, 2013 at 2:08 pm
Ho yes we did vote for freedom. Freedom to keep in check wrongdoing. Freedom question someone where we suspect foul play through the courts of law. Rupiah stole money for poor Zambians, he is going to lose his freedom because he is a criminal just like all other criminals.Let me emphasise, he is a criminal that is why he is not free, I am not a criminal that is why Iam free.

The hour of reckoning has come. Good lucky RB because if we gave you freedom to travel to other countries, you are going to tamper with evidence and meet that foolish lawyer of yours. I mean government knows all that and it is a fact. Why should you be invited to represent Zambia on international fora without clearance from GRZ. Sobber up, stay home until you are cleared by the courts of law. We have learnt alot from the behaviour of your fugitive son Henry. I rest my case
