Supreme Court Judge Elizabeth Muyovwe has nullified the 2011 election victory of MMD Petauke Central MP Dora Siliya.
This was after Losing PF candidate in the 2011 elections Leonard Banda petitioned the election victory of Ms. Siliya in the courts of law.
Mr. Banda had appealed to the Supreme Court after he lost the original petition in the High Court.
In delivering judgement this morning, Judge Muyovwe stated that there was overwhelming evidence of widespread corruption in the run up to the election in Petauke Central.

Oh no Dora is in trouble, looks like this is the end of her political career! Indeed the last tripartite elections were marred by corruption by the then ruling party. Many more are yet to lose their corruptly won seats. Looks like the PF losing candidates are gaining momentum and hopefully they win the bye elections. How I wish those who lose their seats because of corruption could burred from re-contesting!

I think there is something fishy with this trend of PF skewed successful election petitions against the opposition. I am also strongly inclined to believe charges raised that the PF is bent on;…leading the country back to the “one party participatory democracy” era, increasing to 8 years MCS’s ruling period, slipping in PF preferred articles in the draft constitution, extending persecution of selected individuals and opposition parties, hiding embezzlement associated with oil procurement and looting of banks, protecting and promoting lawlessness and corruption with defiance and, being the Pigs in Gorge Orwell’s Animal Farm. How many more of the petitioned seats by PF are now remaining?

Refresh your mindset. The single aim of any striker is to score, whatever the means as long as it is within the rules. Ask Suarez. The single aim of a party is to get more seats. Wautwa?

Dora desrve that punishment considering what she said during the campaign in Petauke.Insulting pipo vote for Rupiah,Sata will bring war, me am beautiful with soft bam come and touch it. Sata will make pipo to marry their fellow men likewise women. The rasing of middle finger in parliament is another issue. Let her be outside parliament. The 2011 tripatite elections, were the most corruptly conducted elections in history.

Whatever reasons these bye-elections are not serving any purpose at all except for people who do not have analytical ability to discern meaningful developing in a country like Zambia. This Elizabeth Muyovwe is now just as useless as POLITICS OF BELLY one Daniel Munkombwe in terms of thinking and judgement over issues that affect the majority Zambian. No matter what PF will do one day be it will be put to an acid test for these uncivilized actions. Surely, you put aside K50bn contingency fund to fund bye-elections, what a nonsense in our mother Zambia! Am disgusted by these rulings by our now compromised courts of lawlessness.

This is a failure of democracy. These court cases always seem to favour whoever is in power. Now there will be another election; similarly rife with corrupt practices. The woman should have been tried for corruption and if found guilty then lost her seat, otherwise this is just another way of those in power getting the better of the judicial system. Until Zambia finds a way to seperate the judiciary and the executive, the law will always belong to the man/woman in state house. P.s. I am not a fan of Dora or her politics, but we need to be objective

Ba Pat what proof do you expect from a bye-election? You are the people giving MCS false impression that PF is gaining ground everywhere while in reality it is in reverse gear. Look at how the kwacha is performing against the major currencies. Also look at the cost of mealiemeal now. Finally, look at inflation at the moment. All these are researched and documented proven measuring indicators to determine the government performance. So do you think winning bye-election is a sign enough for you to conclude that PF is soundly performing? Noooooooooooo!

THIS IS VERY GOOD. WHY SHOULD PEOPLE IMPOSE THEMSELVES ON OTHERS. LET THE PEOPLE OF PETAUKE AND ALL OTHER AREAS WERE THERE WAS ELECTORAL MALPRACTICE HAVE JUSTICE AND BE REPRESENTED BY THE PEOPLE THEY GENUINELY VOTE FOR.
MMD CAUSED THIS BY-ELECTION. THEY SHOULD JUST HAVE ALLOWED PEOPLE WISHES BE.

Good riddance PF. Dora just about deserves it…too much stupidity. But govt should not interfere with judiciary that I think is where the problem begins. So many cases of corruption have not been solved to date including that of Dora, Liato etc why ….because of a lack of transparency and accountability on the part of government. We need a functional govt. for the people of Zambia, one that addresses issues of poverty, crime, unemployment, health, roads, education. ala eponapela bane….!!! wanya Dora…!

@Jojo, please you tickle me a lot, let your comments flow.. ka Dora became so outspoken, untouchable and big-headed during the run-up to the elections in 2011. Her campaigns were indeed full of maligning, deceitfulness and intimidation. Obviously PF will capture the seat. So mwaice Dora what are you contemplating to do?
