Open Society Foundation (OSF) Executive Director, Sunday Chanda, has observed that the nullification of Petauke central seat is a major blow to the movement for multi party democracy (MMD).
Mr. Chanda says Ms. Siliya is one of the most influential members of the former ruling party and the party will feel the impact in one way or another.
Mr. Chanda has told Qfm news that there is an urgent need for the opposition party to regroup and strategize how they are going to pull through this tough mountain.
Mr. Chanda adds that MMD should accept and respect the decision by the Supreme Court to nullify the Petauke central election due to corruption activities.
Mr. Chanda further says that it is unfortunate that Ms. Siliya’s seat has been nullified because she is one of the few MMD MPs who are determined to foster development.
He hopes that Ms. Siliya will be able to re-contest her seat and win the by-election so that she continues to develop the nation where she has left.
Mr. Chanda further states that the MMD leadership has a big task to ensure that the party resurrects from collapsing.

But why do Sunday Chanda and Chilufya Tayali always disagree with each other on Muvi TV breakfast show. Tayali is a bit shalow minded and his vocabulary is limited. However, externally he is smarter than Chanda.

WHO REALLY IS AT FAULT ABOUT THESE BY-ELECTIONS?
OPPOSITION PARTIES SAY IT’S THE RULING PARTY AIMING TO HAVE A FULL MAJORITY IN PARLIAMENT IN ORDER TO PASS ALL BILLS, THE RULING PARTY SAYS IT’S THE OPPOSITION THAT KEEPS ON EXPELLING ITS MPs AND WE PEOPLE WHO SAY ENOUGH WITH THIS BY-ELECTION-TRANSFUSION, STILL TURN OUT AND VOTE WHEN ONE(BY ELECTION) IS SET.
WHO IS TO BLAME? BECAUSE I SEE NEITHER THE OPPOSITION P., NOR THE RULING P., NOR THE PEOPLE ADMIT OR DENY THE CHARGES.
IN FINGER-POINTING, NO ONE IS GUILTY, NO ONE IS INNOCENT.
IT’S A COURT WITHOUT
A CASE.

Its important that the opposition sit together to plan and strategies on how they can remain relevant in this political dispensation. We are headed to a one party state arrangement by default coupled with hunger , poverty e.t.c . Democracy can not thrive where there is hunger and selfishness.

What is this Mr Chanda talking about when he says that Dora has been working for the development of the country? Has he taken a comprehensive tour of Petauke Central Constituency to substantiate his claims? What development has Dora brought to her constituents who ‘elected’ her to office? How can one be an executive director and make such sweeping statements without giving any evidence of what he is saying? That’s exactly the problem, people giving themselves offices; and then they start to makes statements which are partisan instead of doing their research. Mr Chanda, go tour Petauke Central Constituency and then come back and make those claims you make in this piece with a ‘clear’ conscience.

People in Lusaka a very far from the reality on the ground in a rural area like Petauke Wat movie TV needs to do is invite us from rural area i will pay for my own accomodation because i want to contribute to sharping our country call upon the others also,NOWARD MPS could just work up and come in the rural cheat Zambians and go,today we have seen rapid development in the villages in the first few years interms of development both through mind set of rural people and infrasture is being felt in the rural,if you think Dora can win petauke central you are day dreaming in fact MMD should not just contest the sit, look there is a bye election for ward coucillor in Petauke who just defected from MMD,He was the so called MAYOR,UNIP can do better than MMD because its more organised at grass root,I told you last year before i went on leave that President Sata is a veteran politician who is in power to develop Zambia, and MMD has itself to blame because what the PF is doing is to do what MMD failed to do following the layed out procedure,we have the most independent judicially in Africa I have moved to 24 african countries I have evidence to this, unlike MMD PF have left the judicially to interpret the law,MMD used to use DORA and others to interprete the law, they were very outspoken to the extent that they missled the president to thinking that he has won the election,PF is busy electrifing Petauke rural areas which MMD failed to do dispite having plans on the table,Petauke central has a tamac road project which has being there for the past 7 years were was the MP because the same projects were being in other district, only hips of soil shows the downfall of MMD IN PETAUKE,The towns is the second largest with the so called influential person but has no shopping mole and the central town looks the most desorganised place with buildings at roof level, during the 10 years in office the MP has only being in petauke 10 times and spending 36 hours and 54 hours during elections proof is there at his office of the coustituence office go there you will get it.and sleeping in hotels or rented houses in the so called MAYAD and fairview showing that she was not with the people,Traditionally she can speak but not Practical, she is nsenga yes and accademillically she just like any other educated Zambians who have failed us.MMD conducted the most expensive compign in 2010 in Africa it was in petauke i saw sweets bearing the Potrait of the President and the high quality Tshirts,iI had just returned from ghana but was amazed to see each tree with a chitenge material upto my village in chief sandwe.every body young old were in MMD outfit i was asking my self of the cost if it went to drilling bore-hores.

For PF: your one chance to prove your popularity or stupidity of the people of petauke. Are they behind you or can they be conned like children na ka sweet.
For MMDora: show your popularity or that it was not just your money and bums that won you that seat. Win this and you’ll silence a lot of cowards. Lose this and you as$ is in a sling.

Am just wonderin when foul language, political rhetoric, dancing durin rallies and discussin sex during political campaigns became a legal basis to nullify an ELECTION RESULT? Is this the new level of stupidity, compromise and partisanship that our judiciary has reached? i am truly amazed.

Who can ask the legality of nullifying Petauke seat? That seat deserve to be nullified there was alot of malpractices, alot of intimidations alot of fliers carrying two men kissing each other dipicting homosexuallity which Dora and others were campaigning to say Sata will introduce once he becomes president hee Sata will bring war to name but a few.

The judiciary is rotten in zambia. All these by erections are induced by the ruling party. While the majority whole in poverty its surprising that most zambians are happy with these bye erections. No wander why this country cannot develop. How can you spend 2 years spending huge unbadgeted for tax payers money on these useless bye erections. I call them erections instead of elections cause they are a wasteful spending. Just as well disolve parliament so that we go for fresh elections countrywide. Shame on the judicial system. Chibesakunda must resign for leading such a system whose verdict already predetermined by this rotten government.

Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.
Dora has been such a haughty woman. She behaved irresponsibly during the 2011 election campaigns and went on to parliament to lumpenise by showing a middle finger to all in that august house.
Jehovah God has allowed this so that Dora can learn humbleness again.
If she does not learn from this, she may even end up in prison over her radar case which is still in court.
Women, when we are in power we should temper our actions to reflect our values and customs.

this should serve as a caution to all those aspiring to hold political office, to be aware of the procedures and rules of conducting your campaigns. here now we see every citizen being affected. also our ECZ must put their foot down during elections to ensure that candidates comply with the electoral code of conduct to avoid these very expensive by-elections.
