ZESCO Wire Nkana 3-1 To Take Command Of MTN League

Former champions Zesco United this afternoon ended 11-time kings Nkana’s fairytale at the summit of the FAZ Super Division with a 3-1 hiding of the Kitwe side in a Week 13 clash played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

A brace from Winstone Kalengo and a goal from international Kondwani Mtonga was all Zesco needed to come from behind and settle one of the most anticipated fixtures in the Zambian topflight.

Nkana were leading the table with 29 points before the fixture but went one point behind after 90 minutes despite their marksman Festus Mbewe putting them ahead in the 46th minute with all the four goals of the match coming in the second half.

I have no problem with ZESCO going on the summit of the table. Copperbelt teams are good in continental competitions so Nkana, Nchanga and ZESCO work hard for the top slots

Now the league is even getting more interesting…wish Zanaco fc and Power dynamos fc would also get back in the game and make this a four way race…but I go for zesco the 3 time champions to bag their fourth league title.
