ZAMBEEF Meat Tests ‘Negative’
TEST on meat products on the two Zambeef trucks detained at the Katima Mulilo border post have revealed no sign of aromatic aldehydes.
This is according to a story posted on Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) website.
Aromatic aldehydes are believed to cause cancer.
But Health Minister Joseph Kasonde says the two trucks have since been released to proceed with delivery of the products to Zambeef.
Dr. Kasonde, however, says inspections on food products entering the country will be intesified to ensure they are fit for human consumption.
He said this in an interview with ZNBC in Lusaka.
Dr Kasonde said results on tests done in South Africa and Germany on the alleged unwholesome meat products seized from Zambeef are not yet out.
Last week, Dr Kasonde told Parliament that preliminary tests run on some Zambeef imported products tested positive of aromatic aldehydes.

I knew this is won’t go anywhere. Zambeef is run by crocks. Pf u hv even tried,if it was bwezani, he would hv taken bribes th 1st week of it. Atleast they ar shacken nd lost market. Hence, they will try to be careful 4 some time. … Pipo let us be watchful. All I say bravo to health inspectors.

ZAMBEEF how do import only intestines, I’m made to think you pick them from malabo/chishala. Those things are not eaten where they come from, who knows how they are handled there! Import real meat please

I felt so bad too when I gathered that tripe is imported. I went like “We bucushi wee finshi tulya ifwe kanshi?” This is because i just couldn’t imagine how we are the ones that feast on Tripe, is better rigino Nyama too expensive for Zambia to import?

these ba zungus went running to Guy ‘Mpande’ Scott and then we are told that there are no chemicals anymore! Did we miss something here?? I knew we shouldn’t have put a muzungu as VP he will protect all the white ‘çhaps’ that are up to no good in this country!!

Aromatic aldehyde do not cause cancer and her used to inprove the tastes and smell for food stuff, cakes, perfumes etc…it was missed identity by the whistle blowers….The chemical used for embalming is fomaldehyde (formalin)and it has a very strong smell such that even one microlitre can be unpressant.Somebody will pay handsomely to Zambeef for the losses encountered which I believe will in Millions(Former KRs)

As long as you are a meat eater you will be sold this meat by your favourite butcheries around the country. They will get it from Zambeef and sell it to you. As simple as that. This is business mind you.

FOR ME,IT’S BETTER TO ABSTAIN FROM THEIR MEAT. I HAVE ALSO BEEN EATING FOOD WITHOUT COOKING OIL FOR CLOSE TO 2YRS NOW, NOT BEEN TAKING FIZZY DRINKS AND MORE THAN 3YRS NOW NOT EATING THESE MADE BY FWEBENE CHICKENS. I FEEL SO GOOD AND YOUNG IN THIS BODY OF MINE THAN I HAVE EVER FELT IN PAST 10YRS.

Well……this may be too late to reverse the misfortune ZBeef is going through. A lasting reversal may take long to happen or may not happen altogether….hence a strategic change of line of business may be recommended. I would propose that Grogan and team close the beef and chicken production line and perhaps venture into breeding livestock only to allow society to ‘heal’ from the AAS (Aromatic Adelhyde Syndrome).
ZBeef going ballistic about opening a Milk plant is not good PR at a time like this….as people will associate milk to other additives….
Yes even if we are all Zambian shareholders as said by ZBeef Chairman……..it beats me that the Board who are our representatices in ZBeef did not know about Aromatic Aldehydes in the meat……

Since the first test was positive, this news comes too late for meat consumers. Let us promote our own small scale farmers with village chicken and cows from OUR VILLAGES.

All those saying have stoppd eating zambeef product should also stay away frm eating places coz u never know what u ‘ll be saved in case u press for beef or any humburgers.

@Reasoner that’s a nice one.While most people can abstain from eating zambeef products,they still go & eat beef products from takeaways who buys most of these meat & meat products from zambeef. So indeed you can abstain from some yet you will meet some. Let’s just chew!!!!
