Government closed Evelyn Hone College where students rioted in the early hours of today over the removal of bursaries and poor sanitation.

Education Minister has told a media briefing in Lusaka today the two weeks recess is to allow for rehabilitation of the property which was damaged during the riot by students.

About five hundred and forty thousand kwacha worthy of property was damaged by angry mob of students.

Police have since arrested seventy students in connection with the riot.

Dr Phiri has since directed the students to vacate the College premise tomorrow, Friday by 10:00hrs in the morning.

Dr. Phiri says the Patriotic Front (PF) government will not tolerate any anarchy in the country’s learning institutions.

Dr. Phiri has further told journalists that he has also appealed to the Police through Ministry of Home Affairs to ensure that thorough investigations are conducted and all culprits that caused destruction to college property are prosecuted to serve as a lesson to any would be destructive student protestor.

Dr. Phiri has affirmed that he will not allow an external force to block the prosecution of the perpetrators of the protest that has caused destruction to both college and private property.

Do you know it is easier to start fire or whatever you are thinking but quenching it not easy even your father or your grand father combined cannot manage it. We do not need pipo who are thinking in those dirty lines.

THE KA ‘FRIENDLY GAME’ SOME OF US ARE CHAMPIONING, FWE BAMBI TINA KA CHITA WITNESSED WHILE FOUND IN THE NEXT DOOR COUNTRY.
BELIEVE ME IT IS NOT FICTION MOVIES LIKE:
    *WE WERE SOLDIERS,
    *S.W.A.T. TEAM
    *RAID ON DEAD ISLAND
    *RAMBO SERIES
    *HOTEL RWANDA
    *THE LAST PLATOON
    *HEROES SHED NO TEARS.
IN THE SAME YEAR OF GABON DISASTER THERE WAS A RIOT
@ UNILU’UNIVERSITY OF LUBUMBASHI’ IN DRC AND
    WHAT HAPPENED WAS HELL.
SAD EVENTS OCCURING IN NEIGHBOURING COUNTRIES SHOULD ALWAYS BE CONSIDERED NOT AS FOOT-PRINT TO FOLLOW BUT AS WARNING TO US.
CAN’W WE SEE THE WRITING ON THE WALL?
NOTHING IS DEFINITIVE IN LIFE EXCEPT DEATH. PROBLEMS ALWAYS HAVE SOLUTIONS AND STUDIENTS CRIES ARE NOT AN EXCEPTION. CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION NEED TO BE OBSERVED.
THE TWO PARTIES INVOLVED NEED TO MEET, DISCUSS, WEIGH THE YES’ AND NO’s, COME UP WITH A COMMON DENOMINATOR AND EVERYBODY HAS A SAFE DAY.
WE WANT OUR COUNTRY TO BE A TOURIST-INVESTOR ATTRACTION BUT DO YOU THINK SUCH CURRENT READINGS CAN HELP US SELL ZAMBIA POTENTIALITIES?
    YOU KNOW THE ANSWER.
SO, LET US DO AWAY WITH WHATEVER AIN’T PROGRESSIVE.

Are riots only happening in PF? Or are you from another planet? These things are common every where. Next you will be blaming PF for the many diforces in Zambia.

We used to have riots in Chiluba time taking as long as two three months closer in Mwanawasa the same things used to happen its not PF which is causing this. Infact regardless of any grievaces a normal person cannot reach to the point of destroying his own shelter at the institution thats madness that cannot be allowed anywhere.Intellectuals with propensity type of mentality. Those who were caught should be delt with firmly to set a deterrant example to the who will be riotees in future.
