Evans Kangwa Shines In Zambia Training

Evans Kangwa fireed a hat trick in 6-2 practice match win on Wednesday for Zambia ahead of Saturday’s 2014 CHAN qualifier against Botswana.

The Nkana striker was recalled a week ago to the Zambia national team for the CHAN qualifiers by coach Herve Renard despite not playing any competitive football this year.

This follows his recent return from a six-month trial stint in Spain at Segunda Division club Recreativo da Huelva.

However, Kangwa has yet to play for Zambia in the CHAN qualifiers despite making the travelling party for last weekend’s trip to Botswana where they were held to a 1-1 draw by the Zebras on July 27 at Molepolole.

Meanwhile, Zambia’s other goal’s in the practice match win in Ndola over lower division club Premium Sport FC came from Nchanga Rangers striker Bornwell Mwape who scored a brace while Zanaco forward Moses Phiri added a goal.

Zambia needs a win or draw this weekend against Botswana whom they host at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola to advance to the final second round qualifying phase.

And winner over both legs with face either Zimbabwe or Mauritius in the second round to decide who qualifies for CHAN finals to be hosted by South Africa in January.
