3-Yrs For Exhuming Body Of Dead Person And Removing Private Parts

Magistrate Court in the Malawis Northern District of Mzimba has sentenced a Man to 3 years Imprisonment with hard labor for exhuming and removing the private parts of his brother at Kafoteka Village in the area of Inkosi Mzikubola.
The Man 32 year old Moses Malengenya Phiri was judged by Mzimba First Grade Magistrate George Longwe in a jam packed Court as the case had drawn a lot ot interest due to its nature. “What you did was in humane and unheard of “.Said Magistrate Longwe. The facts in matter state that Phiri in the month of June went to the grave yard Kafoteka Village in the area of Inkosi Mzikubola where he exhumed the body of Legson Mkandawire who had recently died and removed his private parts.
Prosecution in the case told the Court that Phiri took the private parts to the deceased father who reported him to the police Phiri who it said also performed the same action on his late mother and father admitted committing the crime but said he was acting alone. Another Magistrate Court in Malawis Capital City Lilongwe also sentenced four men to 4 years imprisonment with hard labor after they were found guilty of removing the private parts of corpses at Kamuzu Central Hospital Mortuary where they were working.
The case of Moses Phiri has caused untold fear in the area of Kafoteka village as communities feel he was not acting alone. ” We feel there are some people who are working with him who are still at large” said Jonga Mkandawire Father to the deceased who received the private parks from Phiri parked in a small black Bag Mzimba Police Station Officer Earnest Mazingaliwa told this Reporter that they are still investigating the matter as they also believe Phiri might nit have been working alone. “We will carry on with our investigations as we are also suspicious that he was working with other people.
