Luanshya ZNUT Should Be Dissolved

Dear Editor,

ALLOW me space as a fully paid-up member of the Zambia National Union of Teachers (ZNUT) to express my utmost disappointment in the manner the Luanshya District Executive is running the affairs of members.

The executive has gone to sleep and has completely failed to revamp unionism in the district. The leadership has not created fora where members can voice their concerns and some officials appear to be there for personal gain.

Despite contributing money every month, we are not adequately represented by the district ZNUT leadership. The only solution is for the provincial executive committee to seriously consider dissolving the executive so that we usher in men and women who have members’ interest at heart. I am ready to join another union that will represent me effectively.

TIMOTHY KAMBILIMA
CONCERNED ZNUT MEMBER.

What about JOE KAMUTUMWA’S union which only exists in Lusaka? ATPSUZ is a useless union. Imagine it couldnt even go round the country 2 explain new conditions of service 2 its members! I pity pipo who belong 2 it

Its not in Luanshya only all unions have become irrelevant. We are better off without them. What do they do with our monthly contributions.

Batumfweko you have lost it, it looks to me like you depended much on ZWD for your stories. How come your site is not frequently updated. Get a grip and give us news.
