Dear Editor,
It is interesting to follow the mind game between Renard and Gorowa ahead of the forthcoming mouth-watering Zambia vs Zimbabwe CHAN final leg qualifier this weekend at Levy Mwanawasa. Renard’s counsels that the boys are “ready for kill” is very much comforting, but Gorowa’s pronouncement that the warriors will not be a “walk-over” as they will play better away than they did at home should not be taken lightly. Recall that Sudan also came to literally frustrate Zambia – and they did when we draw 1 – 1 at Levy Mwanawasa June 15th. Also, recall that Ethiopia went to the AFCON in South Africa with one main objective – to frustrate Zambia and they did as we drew 1 – 1 on Jan 25th.
Drawing 1 – 1 with Zim this time around will be very disastrous for us, so Renard and his technical bench should indeed put in their very best as they rehearse tactics and formulas to deploy this time around. We need a solid defense that will not leak even for a second as Tendai Ndoro might pull a quicky especially early in the first half or immediately after we score. We have to polish our set-pieces tactics as these may be the only available opportunity to score – recall that Zim was a better side during the last COSAFA final though we beat them 2 – 0, thanks the beautifully taken freekicks by Alex Ng’onga and Kabaso Chongo, and also to that fact their striking force was blunt.
All the best Chipolopolo.

If zim was a better side in the COSAFA final, they would have won the match. Football is goals and not how well you play. Germany does not play attractive football but they score goals and are reputated one of the strongest football teams in the world. Bravo Chipololo. Score goals and defend against being scored!!!!!!

Battle of the Zambezi IV. When was I and II “fought”? These teams have met many times before. What qualifies a match to be called Battle if the Zambezi.
