Ndola Soldier Commits Suicide after Differing With His Superior Over a Woman

By MUBANGA NONDO

A THIRTY-SEVEN -YEAR-OLD soldier of Kalewa Barracks in Ndola has committed suicide after allegedly differing with his superior over a woman.
Acting Copperbelt commissioner of police Joyce Kasosa and sources close to the soldier confirmed the incident yesterday.
Ms Kasosa said Richard Siwale, a warrant officer class one, took a pesticide on Sunday at a house he was building in Pamodzi.
She said Mr Siwale committed suicide after his superior officer allegedly threatened to charge him for indiscipline when it was discovered that the two were allegedly involved in a love triangle with the woman, a recruit at the same barracks.
“It would appear he did not want his wife to know what he was doing, so he chose to take his life. A small note and an empty bottle of doom pesticide were found at the scene,” Ms Kasosa said.
And the suicide note read: “I am not worth living in this world, which is full of people who accuse others of things they have not done. My children should grow well.
“I leave my estate in the hands of my wife and children. Don’t blame my wife,”
Mr Siwale was buried yesterday.

Sad indeed, more especially that he could not know that HELL is real. Small differences we could have on this side of eternity should not make us cross the line of “POINT OF NO RETURN” in sin.

@ Matanda…i thnk u are blowing the issue of pre-marital sex out of proportion. Honestly,i dnt see hw it fits in this story.z it the only teaching u knw frm the bible? That soldier is ******. I tell u,many of these soldiers are weak both physically and emortionally. They jst hide in combats n the weapons whch they carry around. Its a shame for a trained military personnel to take hz life ova a ka prostitute recruite!

The only big SAD thing is that, the path he chose to take his life is a path to HELL and there is no two way out. Another SAD thing is that, he sends his own children into problems by growing without a father to teach them grow a better life.
