Zambia was forced to train from the car park after Ghana authorities locked the team outside the baba Yara stadium in Kumasi on Thursday evening.
But the Chipololpolo training session on the concrete of the stadium car park was abandoned for security reasons as hordes of Ghana fans charged at the team, hitting Zambia striker James Chamamga on the head.
In what is one of the most shocking and embarrassing episodes that throw the game into shame and disrepute, Ghanian authorities locked the Zambia team out; forcing Chipolopolo to to do their pre-match worj out in the stadium car park.
Striker James Chamanga was hit by an ‘object’ as a determined Zambia squad attempted training paces with hordes of Ghana fans surrounding them and their bus in full view of Ghana football association officils, match commissioner Nicholas Musonye and several stadium managers and officials.
“This is a shame to football. I can’t believe this is happening before a FIFA World Cup Qualifier,” said FAZ Spokesperson Erick Mwanza.“The reception since arrival has been bad, the team has no security as everyone including the match commissioner and GFA officials saw at the stadium. One wonders how such a match can go ahead when you don’t have the little basics in place. What will these people in the event of Zambia winning. they will be more uncontrollable.”
Zambia and Ghana clash at 18:00CAT in a Group D Brazil2014 Qualifier at Baba Yara Friday. Chipolopolo need to win to progress while the Black Stars can go through with a draw.
Despite the “stone age” maltreatment, Mwanza said Zambia will play “If they will open the stadium for the match tomorrow.”

@choked, @kwame, how about getting the full story since the media can report untruths. Information coming out is that Zambia was supposed to be at the stadium @4pm local time and then ghana at 5.3pm. Zambia didn’t show up at the required time only to show up after 7pm. These can be allegations but get to know the full story before u conclude. Yesterday ghana was accused of denying Zambia to land in Kumasi only for reports to come out that it’s organizational blunder by FAZ. This report can be a concorted story by FAz knowing what happened yesterday

But kofifi doesnt the host team offer a training ground apart from the venue? Ghana FA could have offered another ground if the match venue was locked. We often do that. And why would chipolopolo arrive at the wrong time? Ghana just want to declare war against a long time friend

A Bemba adage says that, “Akanyelele pamwabo kalasuma”, meaning an ant bites when you temper it at its own ground. But the Zambia – Ghana game is another we shall instead bite the Black Stars at their backyard with the Copper Bullet. Twalabasumina pamwabo, lelo ni lelo. Kuli LESA kweka twapela ubukata panthu eutulwila no matter what it takes in their tricks. GO ZAMBIA CHIPOLOPOLO GO CONQUER!

Ghana are rubbish. Lets just hope for a win for Zambia. But us Zambians too have a problem, if Ghana were to come to Zambia next week you would see the security and care the Zambian authorities would give them.

Chipolopolo wants to win the game in the pitch but Ghana is preventing her. When we petition later and win judgment, they cry foul saying that our win was just in the boardroom and not in the pitch. I never knew GHANA was so primitive.

This is FAZ logistical chaos; gun pointing all the time. Firstly, they should have trained in Ivory Coast (in the Ghana backyard) but decide against it. Then they take the trip to Ghana at the eleventh hour, and panic when they discover Kumasi Airport is not international. Eleventh hour trips leave you no room for plan B. For you information FAZ is not interested to take the matter to FIFA for fear of being exposed, they would rather seek comfort in your wild speculations.

The Zambians were busy flirting in town enjoying the comfort of our country so they were late and they miss the time for training according to fifa rules, so the only place they could train at that moment was that place, is not that GFA force them to train there so please you guys should stop that your stupidity comments since you have no idea how it happened, i was at the stadium and i saw it myself, is quite obvious that any writer can write what they want for ****** people who just jump to conclution of what the see, nonsense

I do not know if its a Zambian thing to blame everyone else but themselves for their problems. Or is it a case of a very mischievous Zambian FA or press? For those Zambians disrespecting Ghanaians due to these false reportage ask your parents how Ghana has helped you as a nation when you were crawling as a nation. It was ghanaian teachers who volunteered to teach in your schools and even teach you football. Go ahead ask your parents. Do not disrespect Ghana and lose a friend. Be more organized and discipline with your schedules and you will have no problems with Ghana or any other nation. Be humble and stop blaming others from for your mishaps.
