JUJU Scare Hits Ghana…Ahead Of Zambia Game

Baba Yara Stadium
A 24-hours-a-day security has been detailed at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi, venue for Friday’s 2014 FIFA World Cup eliminator between Ghana and Zambia.

This followed reports that some people were trying to plant some substances for voodoo purposes, known in local parlance as ‘juju’, against the host country.

Ghana lead Zambia by two points and any result apart from a defeat would see the Black Stars advancing to the final stage of the qualifiers.

But reports making the rounds in Kumasi indicated that some Ghanaian soccer fans, for reasons best known to themselves, were trying to find ways to help Zambia to beat Ghana. These unpatriotic persons, not identified so far, were said to believe in ‘juju’ so they were relying on it to help Zambia accomplish their wish for them.

One Oteng, an employee of the National Sports Authority in Kumasi said on Angel FM that they were aware of the ‘juju’ scare.

He said the Minister of Youth and Sports, Elvis Afriyie Ankrah, had even ordered them to watch the stadium always.

Speaking on the same network, Charles Boakye, Chief Security Coordinator at the Baba Yara Stadium said security was tight at the stadium.

He said any suspicious person that visits the stadium lately is questioned and monitored to avert the situation where would plant ‘juju’ at the facility.

Meanwhile, Ishaku Batiga, who is in charge of the pitch at Baba Yara Stadium, has assured Ghanaians that the field is in good shape for the game on Friday TODAY.

Atase, winning using juju does not apply to football. why then have the Ghanians been failing to lift the cups if they think such things work? rubbish, Zambians believe that it is only God who has their destiny and not juju, so therefore these witches in Ghana should not drag us into the made of their superstitions. To hell you slaves of the coast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chipolopolo must shame Black Stars on the pitch. Not those pre-match dirty tactics by GFA.
