ZANGENA!!! Civil Servants Celebrate Salary Increments, Wish SATA Long Life Ahead

Civil ServantCivil Servants across the country have celebrated PF governments promise fulfilment of the September salary increment, Tumfweko understands.

Some civil servants Tumfweko talked to expressed happiness and joy with the status quo of salaries saying they ushered into office a listening government which still stands by its promises and fulfils.

Others talked to wished Republican President Michael Sata good health and more years in his life.

‘We ushered a government which hears the cries of the majority poor civil servant who used to get peanuts in the previous regime. Today, i just got my pay and its an increment. I wish Sata long life,’ said one civil servant identified as Imbuwa.

Another identified as Malunga said ‘This is indeed a working government, no doubt. Everywhere you go things are happening and its not strange because Sata has been known as a man of action since his Chiluba days’

Others Tumfweko interviewed echoed the same sentiments of wishing Sata good health and success in running the affairs of the nation.

Civil servants started getting their pay yesterday and its all smiles on their faces.

The PF government earlier this year made a promise to increase Civil Servants salaries effective September and indeed they have fulfilled their promise.

Government is the biggest employer in the country.

PF should increase the money equally to all civil servants. So why should they increase 210% for general workers and 10% for for these others, making adiefferece of k150.00 then what is the point of going to school if salaries can be that difference?

i think health workers who got k300 [4%] and are complaining are just being unfair.last year we [COs,Nurses,EHTs,lab guys etc] got 80% increment [about k1,600 ] the cleaners [CDEs] who got 200% increment this year, had salaries as low as k800. so lets be fair guys to government. do you want to be getting 80% annually? that’s the problem with zambians, today they are celebrating, just give them 8 months they will forget and start demonising the government. nowander previous governments would bring the increment in an election year so that memories of the increament are still fresh by election time. if you are not content with the conditions, go back to school [like i did] and improve yourselves so that you get elevated from that level. congratulations to all of you who are beneficiaries. and hats off to the government [though am still not convinced that zambia is in safe hands]

Liar! If you are truly a health worker you would know that no health worker got 80% salary increment last year. You are probably a CDE who believes such nonsense just to justify your support for PF. I see no wrong in the increments you CDEs have been given but I hate liars!

This is a good thing that happen to any employee, getting a promised salary increment.

I just want to agree with Sobongo and KC that the Government will sustain the salaries and not start delaying future pays because they can not find money.

We hope the government is using the money meant for developmental and social projects or is/has not created a black-hole in their finances.
Let the government demonstrate how the salary increment will be financed and how they will find the money for future salaries. Has ZRA increased its revenues ? I am sure this money has been diverted.
We are happy for the civil servants, it has been long overdue.

A word of caution, please do not now go to microfin and bayport for more loans. Live within your means.

You want government to demonstrate how the salaries will be financed ? Did your parents demonstrate how they used to get the monies for your school fees ? Its purely unreasonable and uncalled for. Get down to your level an applaud the governments efforts to improve the conditions of workers without thinking of blame conditions .
