‘White Widow’ Got Funds From SA banks
The British woman nicked-named the “white widow” was able to secure thousands of rands using a fake South African passport.
Samantha Lewthwaite, who has been linked to the terror attack at a Nairobi mall and to the terror group al-Shabaab, has been on the run in Africa over the past few years, spending some time in South Africa.
Lewthwaite is the widow of the King’s Cross bomber, Germaine Lindsay, who was one of four suicide bombers who detonated his rucksack bomb in London in July 2005.
According to eNCA, during her time in SA, Lewthwaite managed to loan thousands of rands from local banks and owed thousands in debt at retail stores.
While living in Johannesburg, Lewthwaite went by the name Natalie Faye Webb.
An eNCA investigation revealed that in 2009 Lewthwaite managed to sign four rental leases in Gauteng and apply for loans using her false passport.
eNCA revealed that in 2011, a Randburg court issued a judgment against Lewthwaite for more than R20 000, which was owed to First Rand Bank.
Again in 2011 debt of R20 000 against her was written off by clothing stores Truworths and Ackermans.
In 2012, the R30 000 she owed Standard Bank was written off.
Today department of home affairs spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said they were prepared to work with Kenya in determining the validity of a South African passport linked to Lewthwaite.
“The government has not had sight of the alleged passport, nor has it received an official communiqué from the Kenyan officials,” Mamoepa said.
He said should such a notice be received, the state would then act on it.
“Given our good bilateral relations, we stand ready to cooperate with the Kenyan authorities to determine the validity of the passport,” he added – News24

This is a good lesson to our financial institution which lend monies to people based on the colour of their skin. Am not being racist but this is a reality
