Former Ngambela Sinyinda Charged With Treason

The treason charge according to Zambian laws, is punishable only by death if convicted.
Sinyinda’s trial begins in October 11, 2013. He joins the 71 Barotse Activists arrested and charged with treason related offenses.
He is being accused of having organized the 26th – 28th March 2012 Barotse National Council (BNC) which resolved that Western province seperate from Zambia. He is also being accused of raising money to buy some ‘guns’ through Angola, as well as being in constant contact with Afumba Mombotwa, the recently sworn in Administrator general of Barotseland, currently top on the most wanted list of those accused with treason for agitating for the separation of Barotseland from Zambia
Sinyinda was apprehended at his home in Mongu by dozens of Zambia security forces armed with guns around 10:00 hours of Tuesday morning and taken to Mongu Central Police for questioning.

Sinyinda amazes me! He was just in the Zambian govt, and just after “losing”, he turns round and sings “Barotse”. He should have stepped down when he was a minister, and declare that he is “not Zambian”. Traitor.

Let just prevail, ‘messier-ship’ is always created by missed opportunities to dialogue. Think before you comment. For how long has this shit being going on. I would urge everyone emotional to reflect from the point of view of a marriage,it has never always been permanent. the BRE marriage was meant to be permanent ,but the way things are unfolding, it is really a disaster. Lets be real and face the consequences since we are so oblivious to conflict of whatever nature.

Arresting lozis on treason charges has never and will never work or resolve the problem but just buy time.The barotse issue is straight forward.whether people insult Hon Sinyinda and even condemn him to death this problem will still be there to even trouble/haunt the future generations.Mr Sinyinda was a messenger only ,and arresting him wont solve the problem deal with the problem.I will assure you as long as no genuine and serious dialog is taken on this issue no solution will come up.might is not always right,humility is the starting point.Barotse agreement and History IS our heritage and gospel,we will continously preach it to our descendants.I love barotse land.Barotseland blessed of God.Peace without justice is not peace.its only just that Barotseland gets it independence now that the Barotse agreement seems to open pandora boxes some where.Let my pipo go.

Where on earth hv u seen a nation with only one tribe. I urge the government to quickly take development to western province so that my mbuyas can feel less isolated and they part of Zambia. I m sure there is a better way to resolve this issue.
