Give PF Central Committee Chance

THE lower organs of the Patriotic Front (PF) will do their party a great service by waiting for the central committee to meet and make a decision on the demands for their secretary general, Wynter Kabimba, to resign.
This will not only be in the interests of the party but also the nation as a whole.
The party’s national chairperson, Inonge Wina, has assured that the central committee will soon meet to discuss the resolutions from provincial heads and come up with an appropriate decision.
Ms Wina told the media on Sunday that the party has just been waiting for President Sata to return from New York, United States, where he was attending the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The main complaints against Mr Kabimba seem to be that he has been dividing the party and that he has not performed to the expectations of the petitioners.
In response, Mr Kabimba has denied any wrong doing and is blaming “a tribal clique within the party” of sponsoring the demonstrations in order to hound him out.
This has, however, only fuelled more anger against him from within the party.
But the problems that the party is experiencing are expected once in a while in a big organisation.
What is important is to manage such differences in a way that leaves the party more united and stronger.
The PF has the capacity to resolve internal dissent and divergent views as it proved in the way it handled the case of former minister of Foreign Affairs Given Lubinda some time ago.
Those who have been calling for Mr Kabimba’s resignation have driven their point home, and their demands have been received by the central committee, the party’s policy-making organ.
It is important to use the party’s internal systems and structures to deal with differences.
Any action outside these systems and structures will only weaken the party and place cannon fodder in the hands of the party’s adversaries who would like to see it fail.
Whatever Mr Kabimba has done he has the right to be given a chance to defend himself in accordance with the PF’s constitution and disciplinary code.
By presenting their petitions for Mr Kabimba’s removal from his position the representatives of the party from the country’s 10 provinces have done their part.
They should now leave the central committee to do its part as well.
We are confident that after the central committee’s meeting the party will come out a more united force as it implements its pro-poor manifesto.
The party’s youths, who are in the forefront of the calls for Mr Kabimba’s resignation, must also head their national chairman Chishimba Kambwili to stop issuing statements on the issues surrounding Mr Kabimba.
Mr Kambwili has urged the youths to allow the central committee to handle the matter and come up with an amicable solution.
It is not a secret that the PF is delivering on the promises it made to the people of Zambia two years ago.
The country has become a ‘vast construction site’ as the government and its partners implement multi-million Kwacha infrastructure development projects that are creating thousands of jobs.
The reforms in the labour sector have started bearing fruit while the creation of new districts has also created hundreds of jobs for citizens.
These are just some of the good things that Zambians are witnessing under the PF government, which is why its stability is critical.
Give the central committee a chance.

PF LEADERSHIP NEED A REFRESH. THEY NEED TO SIMPLIFY THEIR APPROACH TO THE EXISTING ISSUES AND MAKE IT MORE ENJOYABLE FOR ZAMBIANS AS THIS WILL HELP THEM TO INCREASE THEIR DESIRE FOR POPULARITY . OTHERWISE THEY MAY BE LOSING OUT.
