Dear Editor
I am writing to highlight something which the the political leadership in this country does not seem to know anything about. The other day Konkola Copper mines (KCM) closed one of the plants (east mill).
This plant used to have a lot of employees and so far their fate is still unknown. This is only the beginning of worse things to come because the Indians have failed to run this very viable mine properly.
We don’t know why the government has failed to see that KCM is a disaster in waiting. It is a time bomb and if the government doesn’t want to do something about it, they will be caught unaware. The entire company will close as the so called investors don’t even have an idea of how to run a mining company. The government should start looking for another investor otherwise they will look very irresponsible.
This is a timely warning. Political leaders should spend time attending to serious issues than insulting each other. The foreign affairs minister the other day visited KCM plants and was moving around KCM plants with KCM management and asking lower level employees questions about the company in the presence of KCM management. Wilbur Simusa must realize that KCM management didn’t vote for him.
He should have met the workers alone so that they are able to tell him the truth. Please we the people that work there are seeing these things and the situation is very desperate. Don’t be cheated by the KCM adverts you see on ZNBC tv. The indians are just buying time. This will be another BINANI disaster that the Indians brought to Luanshya.

Firsly,Vendanta fikala fyenu, secondly, They wanted to dismiss 300 KCM employees and now East mill has been shut,Moolman,U&M,JES Mining, etc all these experienced and big companies had employed Chingola residents.Chingola roads are poor and who in the first place gave an Indian that smells chilly every time to run a Mine? Do you watch the poverty in Bombay,Punjab etc? I think its high time we burnt things.

Indians can only manage to run shops full of kids food not being given to run a huge mine like KCM,chase them out of Chingola and remove that sign near Mandevu in lusaka showing ****** KCM signs,They are making our copper mines loose value. What contribution are they doing to the wealthy of Zambia? When they give a Toyota Hilux to Harve Renard does that mean development? Is this how Anglo used to run KCM? anytime we see an indian at #3 shaft in we Konkola we are going to stone him to death i swear.and warning to you Simuusa, make sure u protect your coloured wife.

Things are getting worse each and every day ba musukwa , ba simusa ,ba katema and bana banda where are you remember how king kabwili fought for people of luanshya he was spending sleepless night just to make sure that things works out, our MPs they are useless now we know who you are, come 2016 we will know what to do. You have failed to fight for us, KCM they are just busys getting works from zambian contractors giving out to the foreign companies namely BOMER, GROUP R and JCHX they are doing the work at higher rates than Zambian contractors ,yet KCM they are just complaining about the cash flow. Ba PF think you have got time to change things before its to let. BA SATA YOU WILL CRY JUST LIKE RUPIA BANDA CRIED,YOU ARE NOT EVEN STRONG.

Closing East Mill, the plant that at one time had GM Mwanamulume Shamutete sit with a hotline to KK’s desk! With Production at Fitwaola and those Chiwempala pits down to zero as both Moolmans and U & M could not subsidise the KCM Indians, Nchanga now lives only on the UG resource. The so called KDMP is a white elephant, production still from old shafts in Chililabombwe.
The New Smelter in Nchanga relies on external feed concentrates from Chibuluma and Lumwana who frequently stop deliveries when they go unpaid and to get paid. -Smelters need steady flows-
The roads in these two towns are horrible, best time was when KK left.
Wilber and Katema and your Pa Fwaka (PF) are better listen to these warnings.
In Parliament, you have a VP who is mainly conducting ‘The Muppets Show Time at the Appolo’rarely taking seriously issues raised. His ministers absent deliberately to avoid seeing eye to eye or they will punch up, yet Scot wants to give an all rosy impression.
Sata, since you are back now after so long at UN GA which concluded Heads of Gov business much earlier, try and put your abundantly and evidently fatigued boat in shape and hopefully you will find your bearings..and recourse.

These Indians can’t even buy spares for their Machinery .. Pathetic !
Can’t invest in Machinery either.. But busy publishing about the ”WHITE ELEPHANT” alias KDMP .
The project is over-due … Seems still has got a long way to go.

Indeed the happening @ kcm leaves much to be desired. The creation of jobs at kcm is a 0 they are pipo to stop work and when tell the government its like it has go no ears to hear us. Plz wen pipo cry listen to them. Things are not ok with the employees of kcm. Anyway as they say to be fore warned is to be fore armed!
