Nkana Whack Rangers, Move Closer to Title

NKANA 4 RANGERS 1
MIDFIELDER Kelvin Mubanga and striker Ronald Kampamba yesterday scored a brace each as Nkana reclaimed the top slot on the MTN Super Division log when they massacred Nchanga Rangers in a Week 24 match at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
The victory pushed Nkana to 48 points, two better than Zesco United who were held to a 2-2 draw by struggling Kalulushi Modern Stars in an early kick-off at the same venue.
Mubanga opened the floodgates in the first minute when he beat a poorly-set-up offside trap before firing past goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata.
However, Nkana’s lead was cancelled in the 15th minute by midfielder Martin Daka who headed in Alex Ng’onga’s free-kick past goalkeeper Charles Mweemba.
Nkana kept their composure after conceding and it was not surprising when Mubanga doubled the lead from a freekick on 35 minutes.
Rangers coach Fighton Simukonda responded by resting goalkeeper Nsabata for Rabson Mucheleng’anga who equally could not stop the 11-time Super Division champions from hitting the target.
On 44 minutes, Donashano Malama’s long throw-in was parried in Kampamba’s way and the 21-year-old stabbed home.
On resumption, Fighton Simukonda introduced Patrick Kasunga for Bornwell Mwape but it was Kampamba who extended Nkana’s lead in the 55th minute after benefiting from a George Chilufya’s lapse.
With time running out, Simukonda introduced Fashion Sakala for Davy Kandanya in the 76th minute but the damage had already been done.
Third-placed Rangers have 41 points.
KALULUSHI 2 ZESCO 2
Zesco United’s prospects of reclaiming the MTN Super Division title suffered a setback when they allowed struggling Kalulushi Modern Stars to come from behind twice in a Week 24 match at Nkana Stadium in Kitwe.
Zesco opened the scoring in the 13th minute when Kalulushi defender Angels Kalangu scored an own-goal as he attempted to clear the ball after goalkeeper Lennon Muma spilled Jackson Mwanza’s scorcher.
Bellington Clarence restored parity on 33 minutes with a clinical finish past goalkeeper Lameck Nyangu.
Clarence had another opportunity to extend Kalulushi’s lead on 45 minutes but he ballooned wide.
Zesco trainer Tenant Chembo introduced John Ching’andu for Chileshe Kangwa on the hour mark.
The change immediately yielded fruits when Mwanza restored Zesco’s lead in the 67th minute with a low shot past Muma after benefiting from Ching’andu’s pass but Josephat Kasusu equalised in the 73rd minute with an overhead kick.
Kalulushi remain third from the bottom with 20 points.

Rabson Mucheleng’anga was dropped from the National Team after being ‘exposed’ by SATE SATE in that friendly Zambia vs Nkana match. Why can’t Renard consider this boy SATE SATE?

Akamwaiche ka Sate Sate kalishupa ukumaka. He is never seen on the pitch unless after scoring. It was not a lapse on my part when he scored the 4th goal in yesterday’s match. Kalikwata umuti ka Sate Sate!
