Now Sunzu, Kalaba, Sinkala Face Arrest For Sneaking Back Into Congo Illegally
The Immigration Department has threatened to arrest THREE national soccer team players for illegal crossing into the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The three players are Stophila Sunzu, Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala who all play for Congolese club TP Mazembe.
Immigration spokesperson Namati Nshinka says in a statement that the three crossed into Congo without following the Immigration exit procedure.
Mr. Nshinka says the TP Mazembe players and officials entered Zambia aboard a chartered plane via Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Saturday and returned to Congo using some mode of transport.
He says the Department carried out a comprehensive search on recent exits, which revealed that any exit made by the players was done illegally as they did not appear before Immigration authorities as required by the Immigration and Deportation Act number 18 of 2010.
Sunzu, Kalaba and Sinkala were in the country on Saturday for examination by a medical doctor after FIFA directed their club to release then so that FAZ ascertains their illnesses.
The players were however not examined, as FAZ demanded that they travel to CHINA were the Zambia National team doctor was to examine them a development their club refused to accept.
However Sports Minister Chishimba Kambwili has directed that the three players travel to China for the international friendly against Brazil.
Kambwili has instructed the Immigration Department not to allow the players to return to DRC but facilitate their travel to China to join the rest of the CHIPOLOPOLO squad preparing to play Brazil on October 15.
And Veteran defender Chintu Kampamba will be the last player to join camp, with 48 hours left to the historic and first-ever meeting between the Chipolopolo and the Samba Boys of Brazil.
Football Association of Zambia spokesperson Erick Mwanza says all players have reported and are in good shape.
Mwanza says the squad has continued training at the Birds Nest Stadium, with the official pre-match session scheduled for tomorrow at 20:30 hours on the stadium main pitch.
He named the players in camp as Kennedy mweene, Joshua Titima, Jacob Mulenga, Emmanuel Mayuka, Noah Chivuta and Emmanuel Mbola.
Others are skipper Chris Katongo, Hichani Himonde, Kabaso Chongo, Joseph Musonda, Bronson Chama, Bruce Musakanya, Fwayo Tembo, Chisamba Lungu, Kondwani Mtonga and James Chamanga.
Roger Kola is also in camp but struggling with a hamstring, while Jimmy Chisenga joined the team last evening.
Meanwhile, Zambia’s ambassador to China Joe Chilaizya believes that the team stands a good chance to do something big against one of the world’s best and biggest teams.
Chilaizya said this when he addressed the players at the Birds Nest Stadium before the start of yesterday’s afternoon training.
He says millions of people around the world, in particular Zambians both home and abroad were waiting for the match with huge anticipation.
Chilaizya, who was accompanied by staff from the Zambian mission, urged the team to go into the game and seek to upset the record World Cup winners.
The Ambassador has also invited the squad for dinner at his residence.

Faz must ensure that TP Mazembe is reported to FIFA for causing this unnecessary inconvenience to us and the three players must not feature the club in their forth coming CAF game! Appropriate action must be taken against TPM and the 3 Players!

It seems to be the one and only “stimulant” that really works even though I am on epilepsy medication.(Epynuton,Degranol and Lamitor). Kabwili and FAZ u should not force these guyz especially kabala the boys have grown big headed,look what is happening Emmaueal Zulu,Litana etc because of the same we have a lot of players who can perform more than these guys,since these guys are in congo they will behaver like them cause congolese are conmen.

Retire them from the national team. Besides they were part of the team kicked out of the afcon. Who stamped their passports without presenting themselves before immigration authorities. Corruption perhaps. Going forward replace them with patriotic zambians

Actually, Kalaba mentioned during the meeting that his passport had remained in Congo. Why didn’t the Immigration take action there and then? This Andre Mtine CHAP! is also a crook. Andre is also fed by Katumbi. No doubt Andre is involved in this ****** thing. While I understand that the boys f**ked up, I know that these are machinations of Katumbi, Andre and their agents. I am sure the boys are just being tossed left right and centre and mostly likely all their passports remained in Congo with Katumbi; that is why even when Kambwili said they sould go to China, it was not going to be possible. Katumbi must have held on to the passports and he didnt want this fact to be known hence organizing agents to “kidnap” the boys. I PERSONALLY DO NOT THINK THE BOYS HAVE ANY HEALTH ISSUES, LOOKING AT THE WAY THINGS HAVE TURNED OUT. The best FIFA can do is to ensure they do not take part in their forthcoming match through CAF.

And how does this FIFA ranking affect you? If you love your country so much why not send your own sons out there? Leave Sunzu and his friends alone, they are not slaves to anyone. They are big enough to decided what is best for themselves. Moreover why risk their lives by going all the way to China to play for K2,000? That kind of money is meant for starving chaps in our local league.
